"Uh... what?"

You didn't know how to respond to Shidou. Honestly, who would? There probably was no 'right' reply to the words, "I wanna be yours forever". What kind of person makes a declaration like that in the middle of a football game anyways for Christ's sake?! Every time you tried to form a sentence or come up with a genuine reply... you just couldn't. You kept  rethinking your words, never being blue to relay your emotions to him because honestly you couldn't even understand them yourself.

His eyes shimmered like he was looking up at the infinite beauty of the night sky... only he wasn't. He was looking at you, an awestruck smile growing on his face. You never imagined that someone would look at you with such genuine admiration, especially Shidou of all people. He was violent, crude, loud, sadistic! The literal sun exploding was probably more likely than seeing a genuine look of fondness on his face... and yet here you were. It felt like everything's just been one jaw dropping experience after another.

"I saiiiiddd~ I wanna be yours forever!!" Shidou cried, firmly cupping your face between his two hands and sitting up to face you eye-to-eye. "I wanna play football with you forever! I never thought I would be able to reach that kind of goal! It was like... BOOM! POW! KA-CHOW! Like... the world stopped and every atom lined up perfectly to make way for my super goal!! My heart is beating so fast, tell me you feel the same! Tell me you feel how we connected too!"

You could feel his hot breath on your face as his wild eyes met yours. HIs breath tickled your lips softly in a teasing way and you felt like your brain just stopped working the moment you realized how close the two of you were. You were shocked into submission, just sitting there awkwardly as you let him touch your face and get as close to you as he wanted. Shidou continued to ramble about the goal and how you made him feel, but it all fell upon deaf ears. Only thing you noticed was the distance between you two.

What the hell were you supposed to do?!

Do you push him away? But he was so happy... what if you broke his heart or something?! Could you even do that? Ok... maybe you're inflating your ego by overestimating how much he liked you but still. Surely he wasn't in love with you or something like that... right? The two of you had only known each other for like a day at most! No, you were definitely reading this wrong. Not even Shidou was impulsive enough to fall for someone in less than a day. He definitely just meant it as a football thing, but still...

Who phrases something like that?!

You felt your heart was gonna explode from how fast it was beating. This guy seriously just didn't have a filter...

Just as you started to calm down and ground yourself, you felt Shidou's touch leave you all of a sudden. Your gaze wandered and saw Rin standing above you two, and Shidou now on the floor again. Just from their positions alone, you could connect the two dots and come to the conclusion that Rin had pushed Shidou away from you.

Rin was glaring at Shidou dangerously. His eyes narrowed spitefully, a sharp look that swirled in his irises as if he wanted the man in front of him to go through all nine layers of hell. You didn't think you would ever see Rin so angry... Yes, he wasn't a stranger to the emotion of fury (especially when it came to Shidou) but this felt so much deeper. You could see his teeth bared like an animal as he glared down at Shidou.

"Can't you see you're making her uncomfortable." Rin said simply. If you were facing away from him you probably wouldn't think deeply about those words, simply assuming he was looking out for his fellow teammate. However, the expression on his face told a different story. It looked like Rin was telling him 'one step closer, and I'll fucking kill you.'

Shidou sat up and shook his head, smiling at Rin's pissed face. To the blonde male, fear was unheard of. Crossing boundaries? What the fuck is that? You were almost certainly sure there was a vital part of his brain missing called 'taking a hint'. Just from the smirk on his face, you could tell whatever he was about to say would only escalate the situation. You didn't want that.
