The next three days were spent training in absolute hell.
The facility required us to undergo an "Athletic Test" but to you, it was more akin to torture than anything. They tested us based on a number of different factors for three days. Things like stamina, speed, jumping ability. You name it, they tested it. Though you supposed it wasn't all bad. As the days passed, you noticed your numbers on the tests had improved quite a bit. Though, you were almost certain that after this physical assessment, your ranking would drop drastically.
"Here, you should stay hydrated. You look like you're going to pass out any second." Reo said, handing you a water bottle. For whatever reason, you, Reo and his white haired friend (who you soon learned was named Nagi) all became a trio. Whether you would call them friends or not... was something you were still debating.
The two of them were both pretty transparent about this, but Nagi and Reo both viewed each other as objects to be used rather than friends. Nagi thought of Reo as a source of entertainment, and Reo saw Nagi as a weapon he could use to further his football career. You really hope they had seen you as more than an object, but with people like this you could never know. They were the ultimate Blue Lock "Egoists".
You accepted the drink from Reo's hands with a small thanks. When you drank the liquid it felt like the elixir of life. The cold refreshing taste woke you up from your fatigue from training.
"You guys know when we're finally going to be done with this physical assessment?" You asked between violent gulps of water. "I seriously can't stand this another day."
"Ughhhh I hope it's over soon. All this training is sooo tiring. I just want my phone back." Nagi complained, on top of Reo's back. Nagi was probably the most lazy person you had ever met, he even refused to walk himself! Instead opting to have poor Reo carry him everywhere on his back. Though you supposed his laziness held a bit of a charm. He was like a cute cat you couldn't help but spoil, except he was a video-game-obsessed teenage boy and not in fact a cute cat, but the point still stands.
Reo smiled at Nagi's lazy behavior. "Haha! I don't think it's that bad, you guys." He brushed off. That was one thing you respected about Reo, despite not being bulky or anything, he probably had the best physique out of all the players on team V. He was able to complete the physical exam with the best score, and somehow carry around a 6'2 male on his back at all times.
"Of course you would say that." You and Nagi unanimously replied, annoyed at the boy's never ending stamina. Before the purple haired male could reply to you and Nagi, the dinner bell went off. Dinner was your favorite part of the day. All your hard work was oh-so graciously rewarded with food. And even though both your friends got better food than you due to their rank, they were nice enough to share some portions of it with you.
Despite dinner being your favorite time of the day, at the moment you really didn't really feel like eating. It was odd, you would think after working out you would be starved however you just weren't feeling it. At the moment, the idea of eating food made you nauseous. "You two can head to the cafeteria, I'm gonna go for a walk."
"Alright, we'll save you a seat at the table then." Reo replied as he carried Nagi off.
You decided to take a walk around the building to get familiar with the place. You would be living here for god-knows how long after all. Before coming to Blue Lock, you used to listen to music and walk as an outlet for stress. Getting lost in music was the best way to cope, you found. Unfortunately, they had taken your phones away so music was a no-go, but the walking was still nice even without it.
You examined the building as you walked past. The more you thought about it, this whole thing felt so dystopian. The technology here was insane, they had to have put millions of dollars into this project. It baffled you that they were willing to sacrifice so much money for a sport, it could have been used to help build hospitals or fund education systems. Yet here it was, being spent on a project to ruin 299 kids soccer careers and fund 1.
