"Hey Reo! You know where Nagi is? He didn't show up to the second half of practice at all."

You took a few steps back, and winded up for a shot. You and Reo had decided to do a bit of extra training before tomorrow's game. He had insisted you didn't need it, but you felt it was better to be safer than sorry.

"He probably just skipped. You know how Nagi is." He said as you kicked the ball, sending it flying towards the net. You watched as the ball had drifted just a smidge too far to the right, hitting the post and missing the inside of the net. Damnit, you really needed to work on your accuracy.

"You're way too easy on that boy, ya know." You commented as you retrieved the ball that had missed the net.

Reo turned his back towards you and picked up a stray ball off the ground. "Why wouldn't I spoil him? He's one of my greatest treasures, after all."

"Greatest treasures?" You questioned the male.

Reo turned around to face you with a big grin. "Oh, I'm sorry! I must have made you feel left out. Don't worry, you qualify as one of my greatest treasures too, along with Nagi."

To any outside viewer, it would seem like a normal conversation between two friends, however it was different seeing it first hand. You could see the madness and obsession that swirled in his eyes, like a neutron star ready to collapse in on itself and implode.

The way he talked about you and Nagi... It was as if he was talking about an object rather then a person. It left you uneasy. How could someone talk about a living breathing thing as it was nothing but a tool. What would happen to you if he had found a "treasure" he valued more than you? You were as dispensable to him as a stuffed animal was to a young child. One moment you're the center of their universe, the next they've grown up and left you to rot in the attic.

Or maybe he just liked to call his close friends "treasures" because they were precious to him, you thought hopefully. However deep down you knew the true meaning behind his words.

"I'm going to review the footage from Team Z's past games. I wanna see what kind of players they have." You said, as you put the equipment you used away. The rest of the players on your team were cocky. They figured since team Z was the lowest ranked batch, it would be an easy win.

"Seriously? I don't see why you would want to watch those losers. But to each their own I guess." He said as he dropped the ball he was holding. "I'm going back to our dorms."

"Alright, see you later!" You said as you exited the training room.

Walking down the familiar hall, you found yourself feeling dull at the scenery around you. Blue Lock - despite it's advanced technology- was a truly boring facility. There had been absolutely no artistic intent when designing the building. How boring.

As you stepped into the monitoring room, it felt as if you were teleported into a dystopian timeline. The whole room was covered in flat screen tvs. Each wall was decorated with 9 flatscreens, making a total of 27 for just one team's room! It was seriously overkill

You sat down in one of the beanies placed on the floor and scrolled through matches until you found the ones where Team Z played in. You had decided to watch the matches in chronological order, so you would have a good idea of Team Z's progression.

The first match was against Team X. Now that you were watching from a third person point-of-view, you could truly appreciate the player that was Shōei Barō. He utilized his giant figure to his advantage, easily pushing Team Z away as if they were nothing more than flies. The whole game was a complete shit show for Team Z, ending in a 5-1 loss.
