A/n: Hey everyone! I've been gonna for a while, but I really do have plans to continue the series. Anyways, let's get onto the chapter
Sae... that was the name of the boy holding onto your wrist.
Despite the very weird encounter, he wasn't a stranger to you. In fact, the two of you had met in a very similar circumstance. It felt like déjà vu. In your last interaction with the man, he characterized himself to you as Rin's very ill mannered older brother. Trash talking your younger sibling isn't a very good first impression to give to a stranger, yet it also was a first impression that stuck with you as an older sibling yourself. With everyone that happened you didn't have much time to think about him, but you could certainly never forget the odd first meeting.
This time, while he still held the same air of arrogance around him as last time, there was something about the way he looked at you that was different from your first meeting. Like a spark of life in his dead sea green eyes that threw you off
His words rang through your head...What did he mean by an offer you couldn't refuse? Another one of his words left you especially confused, the idea of "giving your ego to him" being completely preposterous. The boy was being so cryptic, that you were honestly fed up at this point. Why did all these boys have to talk in riddles? You were in a soccer facility, not an English class. His odd words creeped you out, and you wanted nothing more than to pull away from him at this point.
You took in a deep breath and managed to meet his cold stare with your own. For a second you stood quietly, before gaining the courage to tug your wrist out of the boy's tight grasp. The lingering sensation of his grip stayed on your wrist, a soft throbbing sensation from how hard he held onto you... but it didn't matter, you just wanted to get away from him.
"First of all, would it kill you to be a little less rough?" You mumbled, still feeling the stinging on your arm. "Second, I don't know what you mean by "a new world of football" or "giving my ego to you", but I'm happy where I am. Please don't talk to me about this weird shit."
The boy in front of you scoffed, his emotionless stare becoming hostile. "Spoken like a true mediocre player. I shouldn't even be here giving you a chance like this and you're gonna act like a brat? An attitude like that is gonna get you nowhere."
You opened to retort back, anger building up inside of you due to his words. Seriously, who says something like that to someone they barely know? What a fucking prick, you knew he was bad the first time you met him but expending it again first hand is something else. You didn't care if he was some kind of famous international player, you were gonna beat his ass. Unfortunately before you could say anything in response to his rude words, the sound of loud footsteps cut you off.
"Sae, there you are." A voice proclaimed from behind you. Immediately you whipped your head around to see Ego walking towards the two of you with Anri trailing behind him. "I told you to wait until the tryouts for blue lock were over, are you incapable of following simple instructions?"
The teenager scoffed, his eyes narrowing on the older man. "I'm just here to pick up [Name] and leave. I couldn't give less of a fuck about your trials and the other players. I've seen them play, they're all shit, my dead grandma could kick a ball better than half those fuckers. I don't see why you waste your time with most of them."
The glares of the two men collided against each other, both of their indomitable ego's unwilling to submit to the other. It was like a silent battle of dominance, who would fold to the other first? For a moment, you wouldn't have been surprised to see the two get into a fight. Instead of that happening, Ego simply sighed and scratched his head.
"This is why I hate teenager... so moody. I'm never becoming a father." He complained while his hand lowered back to his side as he looked at Sae with a cold expression. "Fine, you can take her out a few days early as long as it checks out with the JFA. We need time to prepare anyways, having her here might expose our game plans."
