After the goal that Nagi had scored, one thing became abundantly clear to your team. This game wouldn't be a cake walk.Your team lacked structure and your team lacked strategy, two key things that Isagi's team did have. Not to mention the fact that Isagi and Nagi had become considerably more spatially aware and strategic than they had been before also didn't help your case. When it came to pure skill your team was the clear victor, but now the underdog had climbed back up from the bottom and threatened your crown at the top.
To be fair, you did tell your team that you should have created a strategy. But did they listen to you? Of course not! Perhaps you also should have pushed harder, but in the end that doesn't matter. Isagi's team had shown themselves to be obvious, one that you had initially taken too lightly.
You wouldn't make the mistake of underestimating them again, and you were sure as hell your teammates wouldn't either.
"Man, they played us like a fiddle~" Bachira teased, trying to rile you up. "You gonna take that?"
You sighed as you rubbed the back of your neck. As much as you liked Bachira, he could really be just as much of a prick as Rin was when it came to football. You supposed that was the case for everyone here, Blue Lock truly was a breeding ground for egotistical assholes.
"Shut up, man." You sighed. "You of all people should know that we're gonna get them back twice fold."
He grinned at your resolve and ruffled the hair on your head in fondness, your protests falling onto deaf ears.
Bachira liked when you were determined, it was when he could best see the monster inside of you come out. Like an on and off switch, you could go from being the sweetest people in Blue Lock to one of the most vicious. While he did enjoy being with the sweet fun side of you, he enjoyed seeing your fierce side even more.
It was like watching a starving tiger being released from its cage, enacting its hunger on a crowd of fear-stricken citizens. Call him a sadist, but that didn't change the fact Bachira was still star-stricken everytime he watched you get serious. As of right now it didn't seem that you would be playing at 100%, but serious enough that Bachira would sit back and enjoy the show.
Although what he failed to realize was that as much as admired you, among the hungry animals like you, Isagi and Rin he was nothing more than another citizen waiting to be devoured.
Rin stood in the center of the field, ready to start the kick off. Although his actually facial expression was pretty much the same as how it normally was, the air around him was stiff and unmoving. It was more than enough evidence to tell you that the stoic boy had gotten serious for the first time.
"Enough with the fuss... I'm going to control the field now." He said, to your confusion. How the hell does someone 'control the field'? Sure you could predict a person's actions or influence them to an extent, but being able to dictate people's actions was impossible... right?
Then again... maybe not. Afterall, in your last match against Isagi you were able to coerce him into getting a pass from Bachira, then intercepting it. Though the real question was, to what extent did Rin's manipulation apply? How much of the field would he be able to conquer?
Rin looked up, not willing to glance back at his team and talking to no one in particular. "If you want to win, do your best to keep up." Bachira smiled like a maniac at his words, Aryu started to twirl his hair around his finger quicker and you let out a sigh.
Your team held a wide variety of players (some more sane than others) however one single trait was one that you all shared. The desire to win. It burned in not just your team, but every player in Blue Lock. Each player had a reason for being here, and a reason for playing soccer. In the end the reason didn't matter at all, the only thing that was of value were results.
