Darryl's POV:

"Oh thank you so much!" I exclaimed, bowing to the royal elders in front of me. "You are welcome. We will sort out a plan tomorrow at the waterfall," Nikki said.

"Does twelve p.m. work for you guys?" she asked. "Yes, that'll work," Ant said. "Alright, I will see you then," Nikki said. With that, we left the Blossom kingdom's castle.

Velvet, Ant, Minx, Sapnap, and I talked on the way back to the Sugar Kingdoms castle. "Since you guys were kicked out, you have nowhere to stay. Would you each like a guest room at our castle?" Ant asked.

"Really?" I asked. "Yes, it would be rude to leave you guys to sleep outside," Ant said. "I agree," Velvet added. "Thank you!" I exclaimed. When we had gotten back to the Sugar Kingdoms castle, Ant and Velvet had showed us our rooms. We planned to stay there until we had 'gotten rid of' Quackity and Jschlatt.

Then we would have our rooms back and in fact the entire castle! The Blaze Kingdom and the other kingdoms didn't like them so I'm sure they would like the plan. We'd need to put it into action fast since the Diamond kingdoms prince is still out there.

They could find him or he'd bleed to death. I regret leaving him without treating his wounds but I could have gotten caught earlier by trying to sneak back into the palace, take a med kit, and sneak back out to treat his wounds. If I had taken that route and gotten caught, Sapnap and Minx wouldn't have found out and I'd be on my own for the mission.

The golden apple should hold him off for now.

I hope . . .

Right now I was sitting on the bed of the guest room Ant and Velvet had gifted to us. It was 11pm at night right now. I thought more about the situation I was in, but something interrupted my thoughts.

A tapping on the window.

I looked over to the window to see the Diamond boy. What on earth was he doing here?! How did he know where I was? I was on the second floor! I quickly hopped off my bed and trotted over to the window. I opened it for him, letting the cold air flow inside.

"Hi," he says, panting.

"Oh, my God! What are you doing here!?" I asked. "I just wanted to thank you," he replied as he clung to the window sill for dear life. "Well thank me inside! I don't need you falling!" I say. He giggled. I pulled him up and inside. I set him down on a nearby chair.

I dragged over another chair that sat in another corner in front of him. I then sat in that chair. "This wasn't the best way to tell someone thank you," I said to him. "Yea, I know. I was just too eager to thank you for your actions. I would have before but I was too tired and weak for that," he replied.

"So, I'm guessing the golden apple sort of worked," I say, pointing at one of his open wounds.

"Yea, a little. It's the main reason I was able to make it over here.

It gave me energy," he answered.

"Well, I must say that I am relieved that it worked and that you aren't near the Blaze Kingdom anymore. How . . . did you even find me?" I asked with a puzzled expression. "Every kingdom has a scent to follow that helps you track them. I have a feeling only the Diamond kingdom was taught the scents . . .

Blaze is firewood, Sugar is baked goods, Blossom is blue spruce. Lastly, Diamond is jasper. I just followed the firewood scent along with Ant and Velvet's scent," the boy responded. "Wow, I did not know that. By the way, I never got your name." "It's Zak," Zak replied. "What's yours?" he asked. "My name is Darryl, but Minx always calls me things like 'troublemaker'. Maybe it was because of the time I stole a price tag from a store," I replied.

"You stole a price tag?" Zak giggled. "Ya . . . , I was six. I don't know why but I just wanted the tag," I said.

"You're not the only one who has stolen stuff from a store when you were little. Webkinz were popular at the time and I only had two but I wanted more. My sister kept teasing me about how little of them I had since she had more. So the next time we went to the store, I ripped off all the codes on the Webkinz. I literally just wanted the code to cash in not even the plushy but now I'd gladly take the plushy too. I ended up taking like 500 dollars worth of Webkinz. When I showed them to my sister she told on me and my mother made me go back to the store and apologize," Zak said.

I laughed before saying, "You're the Webkinz bandit!"

"I am not!"

"Yes you are!"

That night we talked about our personal lives, told jokes, and funny childhood stories. It was fun. Apparently, Zak tried to make a life-size paper boat out of paper when he was little. That didn't go very well as expected.

I ended up letting him sleep over in my room on the soft couch that sat in front of the bed. There is no way I was letting him go back out.

I wanted to keep my new friend safe . . .
