Darryl's POV:
My elbow laid on the arm of the chair as my hand supported my head. I was bored. Quackitys words replayed in my mind.
"One of the servants said that they found life in the Diamond kingdom so we are gonna go check it out."
Was there really life in the Diamond kingdom? Was perhaps the prince still alive?
I wanted more information. I needed more information. I sat up straight before standing up. I had to find the servant that informed Quackitys about the sudden life they found. I started walking down the hall. I saw a maid turn the corner towards me.
She stopped to bow at me. "Excuse me, do you happen to know the servant that knows about the sudden life in the Diamond kingdom?" I asked. "Oh, yes. Lucas knows most about it. He was the one who discovered it after all," the maid said.
"Thank you so much!" I say with a bow. "Do you know where he is at the moment?" I asked. "I believe he is in room 665 dusting the fireplace," the maid said. "Alright, thank you again," I say. "Your welcome, prince Darryl," the maid said with a bow before walking away.
I sprinted towards room 665. I wanted to know everything as soon as possible. Once I had arrived at the room, I opened the door. I saw a servant replacing the fire wood. "Oh, hello," the servant said.
His name tag read the words 'Lucas'. "You're the one who knows about the mysterious life in the Diamond kingdom, right?" I asked. The servant nodded. "Can you tell me everything you know? I'm really curious about the sudden life in the Diamond kingdom." "Of course, sir! You do know about what happened to them 15 years ago, right?" the servant asked.
I nodded.
"Alright, so basically, I was out watering plants when I saw the willow tree of the Diamond kingdom but there was a bowl of mushroom stew under it, fresh stew." "There were also footsteps around the area; footsteps that only relate to the Diamonds," Lucas added.
"That's about all I discovered, Quackity and Jchslatt are discovering the rest right now." "Okay, thank you!" I say with a bow. "You are welcome, Prince Darryl," the servant said before returning their attention back to the fireplace.
I exited the room thinking about what Lucas had just told me.
Footsteps that are only related to any Diamond citizens, fresh stew; there had to be someone left of the Diamonds.
Was the prince still alive?
I sat back down on the throne, thinking.
I looked at the glass doors to see Quackity and Jschlatt, but Quackity was holding something. Something skinny and shiny. It was wrapped in a rope. What had they found? They opened the door. I heard their evil laughs. I made out the thing they held. A body. They dropped it. The body rolled down at my feet.
It was a Diamond citizen. More specifically, the prince.
He had black hair, and limestone colored skin. The boy was skinny and wore a light blue hoodie with linen pants and black boots.
He had fairy-like ears with a long tail with diamonds at the end. Shiny diamond freckles shined from his face.
His nose bled a little.
He was tied up with tape on his mouth. My eyes widened at the sight. "What have you done?!" I yelled at them. "Chill, he's still alive, for now," Jchslatt said.
"For now?! You're really going to kill the last of his species just for diamonds?!" I exclaimed. "Diamonds are valuable, Darryl," Quackity said, crossing his arms.
"You can go mining you dunderheads!" "Don't you speak to me like that," Jchslatt said walking towards me. He picked up the body. Before he could walk away with it. I grabbed the prince's arm. "I will not allow you to kill him," I growled.
I tugged the body away from him. Jchslatt pulled back. "Let go," Jchslatt huffed. I only tugged harder. "I said let go, Darryl!" he yelled at me. His yelling startled me but I didn't let go. "I said I will not let you kill him!" I yelled back.
The yelling and pulling seemed to wake the prince. Jchslatt tugged as hard as he could, ripping the boy away from me. I attempted to latch onto the prince again but Quackity stopped me, holding my arms down. The boy squirmed around but he couldn't move that much since he was tied up. Jchslatt carried the prince away down the hall in the direction of the dungeon.
Quackity grabbed my wrist aggressively, pulling me up and off the throne, dragging me down the hall. I yelled and screamed at him but he wouldn't let go. He dragged me to my room and pushed me inside, locking the door. I banged on the door, yelling for him to let me out.
Eventually, I gave up. I slumped down into a ball on the floor. All night, I heard screams and yells. I knew I couldn't save the prince, . . . but I had to try.
