Darryls POV:
Soon after Zak had taken the potion Mrs. Windward had given him, his wings began to grow back. They grew into gorgeous diamond wings. You could see through the middle of them too!
Zak had thought that I finished with all of the surprises, but I hadn't . . .
I had an even bigger surprise coming! I had planned to take Zak to the coast by the Blossom kingdom with our friends, his family, and a few guards. Everyone but Zak knew the upcoming events. They were all so excited! And so was I! But I was also kind of nervous . . .
"Zak, are you ready?" I asked from outside the bathroom door. "Yeah, just one last thing." "Alright." Soon enough, Zak came out. "Let's go," I say, grabbing his hand, leading the way. Our friends and his family were already there, waiting. The guards, Sapnap and Minx, were behind us. Can't have anything ruin the surprise!
"Are we here yet?" Zak whined. "Almost," I responded. Shortly, we arrived. Ant, Velvet, Jack, Nikki, Alex, Mrs. Ahmed, and Mr. Ahmed were all there. I smiled. "Hi, guys!" I say with joy. The others turned to greet us. Some with words and others with physical affection. I didn't mind either of them.
Mrs. Ahmed had kissed both of Zak's cheeks before hugging him. Zak giggled. You could tell Zak had a healthy relationship with his parents.
Eventually, everyone had gotten settled. There were chairs for people to sit on, a large, white table, full of food. We were all talking, most eating or drinking. The sun started to set after a few hours. It was time . . . And everyone knew it, but Zak, of course. I saw Ant squealing with excitement in the back, next to Velvet.
"Alright, guys. I have a little game planned," I said. "Before we all arrived and when everything was being set up, I had hidden a small, glass bottle with a cork. Inside is a special message. The first to tell me the special message gets a little surprise!" I explained.
"Sounds fun," Velvet said. "Can we start?" Zak asked. I nodded. I watched the others scatter around. Ant, Velvet, Alex, Jack, and Nikki were all purposely looking in the wrong areas. They knew where the bottle was. Sapnap, Minx, Mrs. Ahmed, and Mr. Ahmed were not playing the game. I watched the area where the glass bottle was hidden.
It was only a matter of time before Zak would find the bottle . . .
Zaks POV:
I dug through the sand. I was thinking that Darryl hid the bottle in the sand. I didn't find anything. I looked to the left. Nikki passed me, her heels sinking into the sand, making small holes. She had a smug look on her face. That was when I saw something in one of the holes her heels made.
It shined in the sunlight. I felt excitement rush through me. I didn't say anything, though. Didn't wanna hint to the others that I found the bottle.
I crawled over to the item. I dug around it. There lay a small, glass bottle with a cork, buried in the sand. I snatched it. "I found it!" I exclaimed. The others turned towards me. "Good job, Zak!" Darryl said. "What does the message say?" he asked, starting to walk towards me.
I turned my attention to the bottle. I popped off the cork, dumping out the small paper inside onto my palm. I unrolled it. "It says, . . . 'Will you marry me?'" I read. I gasped. I heard squeals behind me. That was when I looked up at Darryl.
He was now on one knee, . . . with an opened, black box in his hands. Inside was a diamond ring. "Will you marry me, Zak?" he asked.
Darryls POV:
Zak looked at me, stunned. "Yes!" he exclaimed, hugging me. I fell back onto the sand, Zak toppling on top of me. He cried tears of joy into my chest. I smiled, patting his back. I heard the others clap around us.
Zak looked up at me. You could see the tears in his eyes. "I love you," he said. "I love you too, Zak."
