The Sapphire Legacy (Steve Rogers)

Chapter 16

"How'd he get here, Thor? You killed him." Tony looks at me and Steve, "He's from the past."

"Where are the stones?" Steve asks, with his arm still draped over my shoulder. "Somewhere under all of this, all I know is that he doesn't have them." Tony states and we all look back at Thanos. "So we keep it that way." "You know it's a trap, right?" Thor states and Tony smirks, "Yea. And I don't care." "Good. Just as long as we are all in agreement."

Thunder cracks and Thor extends both of his arms to summon both Stormbreaker and Mjolnir that he brought back from the time heist. His casual clothes transform into his signature armor and cape and his beard becoming braided. "Let's kill him properly this time."

Steve turns and grabs my face with both hands, "find the stones. Keep them safe." He urgently presses his lips to mine. We pull apart and I smile up at him, "kick his ass." He smiles and I turn to Tony, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. I watch as the three of them walk towards Thanos before running back into the rubble to find the stones and the others. I move rubble out of my way carefully, "Clint?! Rhodey?!" I yell and look around.

"Taylor?! That you?!" I hear and see Clint running towards me with the gauntlet. "Have you seen the others? Thor, Steve, and Tony are fighting Thanos." He shakes his head and hands me the gauntlet, "I'll look for them. By the way, there's an evil Nebula. Watch out for her." I nod and he runs back into the rubble as I make my way back towards the exit with the stones.

I open a portal and teleport myself quickly into Steve and I's Brooklyn apartment, to keep it safe. I teleport myself back to the compound and see Steve attack Thanos from a distance but get knocked away. Thor then goes for him but is blocked by his sword. Thanos beats and chokes Thor as he punches him, knocking away both his hammer and axe. I start running towards them as Thanos attempts to push Stormbreaker into Thor's chest. I see Mjolnir start to float off the ground, when suddenly it flies into Thanos, landing in Steve's hand.

Steve proceeds to charge at Thanos swinging Mjolnir and hitting Thanos in the face knocking him down. He then throws Mjolnir to his shield creating a shockwave and knocking Thanos off his feet. He quickly lifts his arm back up and summons lightning crackling it into Thanos' body. Thanos eventually gets the upper hand and stabs Steve in the leg and knocks Mjolnir out of his hand. Thanos proceeds to destroy Steve's shield with his double-bladed sword and brutally throws him across the battlefield. "STEVE!" I yell and launch myself off the ground, into the air, landing down next to him.

I unleash a storm of blue energy, hurling wreckage at Thanos as he fights his way through it. Finally, in a swift motion I sent a final blue blast of energy into his body, sending him flying across the battlefield. I quickly run to Steve's side, kneeling down next to him. I gingerly place my hand in his cheek and help him up.

Steve staggeredly gets up and looks at Thanos who is recovering from the hit.

"I can do this all day." Steve says, looking at the purple titan.

Thanos soffs and looks towards us, "In all my years of conquest– violence– slaughter– It was never personal. But I'll tell you now– what I'm about to do to your stubborn, annoying little planet– I'm gonna enjoy it. Very, very much."

Thanos' entire army is summoned to the ground, including the Children of Thanos, Chitauri, Sakaarans, Outriders, and Chitauri Gorillas. With fierce determination, Steve tightens his broken shield to his arm as Tony, Thor, Steve, and I against Thanos' giant army.

Suddenly, a crackling comes through our communicators, "Hey, Cap, you read me?" Steve looks around for a moment. "Cap, it's Sam. Can you hear me?" A yellow portal begins to form behind us. "Oh my god..." I whisper and Sam comes flying through it, "on your left."

Following Sam, four figures step through. T'Challa, Shuri, Okoye, and Bucky, fully restored and ready to fight. Dozens more portals open up all around the battlefield. Doctor Strange emerges along with Rocket's other Guardians and Spiderman. More and more heroes with their armies come through from all corners of the universe. I look through one of the portals and see Wanda and Pepper, clad in her own iron suit.

"Is that everyone?" We hear Strange ask before Scott emerges, as a giant, from the rubble with Hulk, Rhodey, Clint, and Rocket.

"Steve..." "Are the stones safe?" I nod at grab onto his arm as everyone takes up positions behind him. "Good. Keep it safe." I nod and we look onto Thanos' forces. "AVENGERS!" Steve summons Mjolnir, "-assemble."
