The village of Evergys had never looked so empty and barren.
"This was my home..." Zaxl shed a tear.
"I'm so sorry, I don't know how hard that must be for you," I said, hugging his chest.
"Thanks, Art!" Zaxl said, returning the hug back.
"No problem," I explained.
All of a sudden, my vision turned blood-red.
"He is here," I nearly whispered.
"Say what?" Jethro asked.
"I am the specter, the possessor, many have bowed at my throne!" Maelfor taunted.
"Whatever man, let us enjoy the peace and quiet of the village!" Jethro snapped.
"If only it were that simple!" he mocked and chanted a resurrection spell.
"Deadus Restoricus!" he shouted and Draulters began climbing out of their graves. Their skin was gray and their rotted flesh was on full display. I practically threw up from watching them.
"What the hell did we do to deserve this?!" Jethro raged.
"It's what you didn't do, which is join me. Together, we'll be unstoppable. Will you join me? If you will, I'll tell the ghouls to stand down."
"And if we don't?" I asked with a lump in my throat
"Then, you shall be killed, slowly and painfully," he explained.
"Go to hell!" Jethro yelled.
"Very well, this is tragic but if you want to die, then so be it!" he shouted and the Draulter army rushed full force at us.
"Prepare for battle!" Zaxl shouted.
"I cast Blazeburn at every Draulter until I was depleted of my powers. Zaxl followed up with slashes of his olivarium scythe, cutting their heads clean off. It was a tragic as hell scene and Jethro shouted for Zaxl to call upon Yuna. He did. She didn't come to help despite this, though.
"Damn you all!" Jethro shouted and stole a sword from one of their bodies. It was a longsword about three feet in length and it was made of silver, a fine blade indeed. I was the only one without a weapon.
He sliced their chests and they let out groans of agony. One of them hissed out a Why?! to which Jethro simply said that it had to be done. He wept while saying this so I could tell it hurt him too.
Eventually, Zaxl froze still and I could see the look on his face, one of utmost horror.
"Helgas!" he shouted.
Jethro sliced through her like she was made of butter and he let out a howl of pure agony.
"Damn you, Jethro, that was supposed to be my future wife!" he cried out.
"I'm so sorry," he said sorrowfully.
Then, Yuna appeared and wiped out the other Draulters with a spell I can't pronounce.
"Take us back, Mother! Please," I begged.
"Very well," she said and teleported us back. It was the dead of night when we arrived. We must have been fighting the entire day.
"I think I'm going to sleep," Zaxl yawned.
"Me too," I agreed.
"Me three," Jethro said unleashing a monster yawn.
If only we knew what would happen next...
