I did not feel bad about joining Maelfor, despite Zaxl and Arthur chastising me for it. They were idiots, as far as I was concerned.

"Don't tell me you miss those two freaks!" Maelfor shouted.

"I don't, they deserve what happened to them," I affirmed.

"Bloody well right they do!"

"Hey, Maelfor?"

"Yeah?" he asked in a curious tone.

"Teach me some spells, won't ya?"

"I can teach you to resurrect people. Is that a good spell?"

"You're kidding surely?"

"I am dead serious," he said without any humor.

"Well, yeah, bring my mom back!" I begged.

"Deirdre was her name?"

"Yes, it was."

"I shall bring her back to her prime."

Maelfor chanted Invertigo Polaro Revivais and my mother appeared. She was a bit confused but otherwise all right.

"Mom, I missed you so much!" I cried out and hugged her.

"I missed you too, sweetie!"

She hugged me and we remained like that until Maelfor became impatient.

"I love happy endings but can we please continue our training?"

"Yes, Mr. M," I said.

"Wonderful, now I want you to burn her alive."

"Excuse me!?" Deirdre shouted.

"I am truly sorry Mother but this is how things need to be."

I cast Blazeburn and her screaming paralyzed me.

"You're doing so good!" Maelfor cheered me on.

"This feels wrong..."

"It's not my child. Do not stop here. Let's destroy Vesperis too."

"It is so far away though...

"Nonsense, I can teleport you there.

Yuna spoke inside my head at that moment but I muted her out.

"Let's destroy Vesperis!"

"For victory!" Maelfor chimed.
