We wisely chose not to fight the guards and instead got in line.
"What are you in for?" The guard asked
"Not paying my taxes," I lied.
"Word is you two know magic."
"You believe the word?" Jethro acted dumb.
"No, because magic is fairy tales."
"Correct!," I lied.
"The lizard goes to a different cell," he commented.
"His name is Zaxl," I said, my voice shaking like crazy.
"I don't give a damn what his bloody name is!" the guard boomed.
"Enjoy prison fellas!" another guard mocked.
"We will try to," I countered. That took him by surprise and he scowled at us in response.
"Bind their hands!" he gestured to yet another guard.
"Careful, moron!" Zaxl hissed.
"Sure thing," he taunted, making the rope extra tight.
"That hurts like a mother!"
"Good!" He mocked.
We were led to the prison with our hands still tied in a knot. Every movement hurt like mad.
"Do any of you know how to get out of here?" I asked.
"Nope," Zaxl groaned, clearly in pain. He was in a different cell than us and looked as depressed as we felt.
"Well, looks like we are screwed!" I chuckled in fear. I tend to laugh when screwed.
"Looks like it," Z said flatly.
"Hey, Zaxl?" Jethro asked.
"Yeah?" he perked up.
"How do we get out?"
"No idea. Maybe someone will rescue us."
"As if," I sighed.
"You never know," Jethro said hopefully.
"Let us hope for the best," Z said.
"There we go, that is the Zaxl I know."
"I'm just surprised we made it this far," Jethro commented.
"Tell me about it," I chuckled."
Zaxl knelt on his knees and I realized he was praying.
"Oh Yuna, hear our plea, save us from this wretched prison," he begged.
"No, I will give you the power to do it yourself," a voice spoke softly.
"Thank you, Mother," I said with a bow.
"Of course. You are part of a prophecy."
"Which one?" I asked.
"The downfall of Maelfor."
"I thought he could not be killed," Jethro wisely said.
"No, but he can be trapped."
"How do we get him in a physical body?" I asked,
"You will figure that out, I promise."
Then, she vanished.
