Wilbur gripped the arm of the park bench tightly, tapping their foot against the ground every few seconds at the silence from the brunette teen to their right.
"C'mon, Col. Say something. Say anything." They said, turning to their side to look the other teenager in the eyes.
"I'm just- I'm just gathering my thoughts, okay? I'm not mad. And I'm not upset. And this doesn't change anything, I promise. I'm just trying to think of what to say."
"When have you ever had to think of what to say around me?" The green haired teen responded, shaking their head. "Just say what you're thinking. That's all I want."
"Wilbur, I've known you almost our entire lives. I don't think I'm being too self important when I say I probably know you better than anyone else in your life. Even Dean. And unfortunately, even your brother." Colby leaned back against the bench, lifting his legs up and letting them fall back onto the ground in front of him with a sigh. "I think this - this whole situation- is the culmination of something I can't even begin to understand. I'm glad you told me. Really, I am. But I don't know what to do with this information now that you've told me it. What does this mean for you, Wil? What about your internship? What about band? Theatre? What about-" The brunette's voice cracked, and he looked away from the other teen. "What about us?"
Wilbur closed their eyes for a second, and then scooted closer to the other. "It doesn't have to change anything. It can still be like it always has been." They said in a whisper, grasping one of Colby's hands in their own. "Nothing has to change. I promise."
He squeezed their hand and looked up to meet their green eyes with his own brown ones. "We swore a long time ago to never make promises we couldn't keep. You can't possibly promise me that, Wilbur. Things are changing." He planted his feet firmly on the ground in front of him, and gave them a small smile. "But that doesn't have to be a bad thing. Maybe things don't have to stay the same. Maybe- maybe they could be different. We could be different."
The green haired teen blushed, smiling in return. "Different how?"
Colby lifted his free hand and pushed a piece of green hair behind Wilbur's ear, other hand still intertwined with the green haired teen's own between the where the pair sat facing each other on the bench. "Different together."
Wilbur tilted their head into Colby's hand, smile still set in place. "Like with the spider pin?"
The brunette teen laughed. "Exactly like with the spider pin. That fits so well now."
"Y'know, I'd been thinking of- of, uh, becoming a sort of...superhero?" Wilbur lifted their own free hand up to face palm with a laugh. "Okay, that sounds stupid when I say it out loud, but I just mean helping out where I can, and of course I'd need a costume to keep my identity hidden, so I thought maybe I'd use the pin-"
"You mean like Ironman? Except like, on the streets?" Colby asked, pulling his hand back down to set it on top of their intertwined hands. "Is that safe? Or legal?"
The green haired teen laughed, leaning forward to set their forehead on the other teen's shoulder. "It's not legal." They leaned back, rubbing their neck. "But! That's why I'd be using a fake identity. And, I mean, I've literally got super powers, Col. How much damage can really be done?"
Colby shook his head. "Okay, okay. But what would your name even be? You said something about using the spider pin. So what? The Spider? Web Slinger?"
"No, no, more like- like spider-boy. Or spider-kid- I don't know, it's still a work in progress."
"How about Spiderman? Sounds official enough, right? Like Ironman, except, y'know, spider." The brunette suggested, bringing his hand back up to poke the other's shoulder. "And that way the public couldn't tell your identity as easily. They'd think you were an adult. Which is probably smart."
"Yeah. You're right. I like it. Spider-man." Wilbur smiled again, looking up at the setting sun and down at their watch with a sigh. "It's getting late. I should probably go home, or Dean will start a manhunt."
Colby stood and pulled the other up with him, pulling them into a hug. "Go home, Spidey." He pulled back with a wink. "Call me! Someone's gotta look out for the new hero. I'd love the job."
Wilbur blushed brightly, pulling their hood up and waving to the brunette as he walked away.

As soon as Wilbur walked in the door of their apartment, a black party streamer was thrown in their face, and Tommy grinned brightly at the counter, a cake with a ghost on it sitting in front of him, Dean and Sam on either side. "Welcome home, Wil! Congrats on 1 mil!"
The green haired teen's eyes widened, and they looked between the three for a few seconds before scrambling to pull their phone out of their pocket and open youtube. Virtual confetti exploded from their channel as they tapped on it, and they looked back up with an eyebrow raised. "When the hell did I hit one million? It feels like I hit fifty twitch followers a week ago!"
Dean laughed, walking around the counter to ruffle the teen's hair. "Wilbur, that was six years ago, kid. You've grown a lot."
Tommy nodded, smile lighting up his eyes. "I'm really proud of you, bubbah. You are the people's favorite streamer."
Sam tapped a box on the counter beside the cake, labeled as from Youtube. "Look what came this morning."
Wilbur walked closer to the counter, rocking on their heels as they stood at the box and flipped the top of it open to reveal a golden play button, engraved with their channel's name at the bottom.
For the rest of the night, they would receive tweets, mentions, and fanart for the milestone. They would get texts from friends and classmates, and from the miraculous Tony Stark, which still amazed them.
Things were changing. But, maybe this time, they were changing for the better. Maybe, for the first time in a very long time, they would fall asleep with no worries. At least, that's what they wanted to believe.
Until they fell asleep and saw green.
