" we need to go check on the new brat.” levi muttered as he pushed off the wall, " some kid can turn into a titan it seems. erwin is joining us so we can save the boy. "
" why? "
" use his powers to save humanity. " levi muttered, " you heard him. "
y/n nods, " I heard him. but unfortunately, I can't read his thoughts. "
levi nods, that's erwin smith. who knows what he's planning? but they trust him enough to follow his every order.
the two stop by the mess hall to have some lunch before they exit the HQ, towards their horses so they can start heading towards the stohess district.
" is that petra and oluo? " y/n mutters, peeking inside." what are you both doing? " the two jump and salute, " captain! y/n! "
y/n gives them a nod, eyeing them suspiciously as they rush away. levi holds back a chuckle, " they were probably making out. "
y/n raised an eyebrow, nodding.
" where's my horse? "
" ride with me. "
" why would I when I have a perfectly healthy horse of my own? " she looked around, " where the fuck—"
" hange has taken your horse already. why do you think I suggested you to ride with me? " he mused, pushing off the wooden door before he reached closer to her, nudging her nose against her cheek as he gently grabs her waist.
" come on, smile a little, pretty. "
" there's nothing to smile about in my life. " she grumbled plainly as she went to push him, levi sighs as he grabbed her wrist, guiding her into his embrace instead. " sad, I thought I am big enough of a reason to do so. "
" what's with you? " she sighs, " we're going to be late. "
" nothing. " he mumbled softly, staying still for a few seconds before he pulled away, " let's go. "
she gives him a strange look but gets on his horse anyway, he climbs after and the two set off.
maybe it was the way she doesn't push him away like she pushes others away. maybe it's the gentleness in her push when it's him...levi likes it.
he likes how only he's allowed to be so close to her without being thrown across the room, or worse end up losing a limb or two.
he's glad because he can hug her when she needs one, he can comfort her when she needs him. he knows why she hates it so much when someone touches her, he knows how painful it is for her.
