in which, levi falls in love at first sight" i don't know why i have to do this. " levi scowled, glaring at hange who is fixing his blazer, " and i can do it myself. i'm not a kid. "
" let me do this, levi. who knows? maybe someone will finally like you? " levi scowled at her words, rolling his eyes.
the whole thing that was arranged was stupid anyway, levi thinks. he didn't want to celebrate humanity's victory at the cost of his soldiers' lives.
he didn't want to celebrate it among a bunch of stuck up royals and corrupted government officials.
but what could he do when erwin had ordered him to join? he was called humanity's strongest soldier — a title he honestly can't bring himself accept — and since he has contributed so much to humanity, he was specially invited.
he huffed yet once again but doesn't say anything as hange giggles and leaves. even on the way to the interior mansion of the royal king, he wonders how hard it will be to hold back from punching stupid people?
levi hates these kind of gatherings where people drink and laugh as if not hundreds of soldiers died to make this possible. couldn't they at least mourn for three days for formality if not genuine?
he leaned against the wall for half of the night, a drink in his hand that he doesn't like as he stared blankly at the people around him, talking, boasting and laughing.
he clicks his tongue, pushing off the wall. he needed some air. he ignored the loud voices, just wanting to tune them out.
but before he could take another step, the lights turn off and a petite figure stumbles right into him.
he had almost snapped, his scowl faltering as he held on the girl's arm, pulling her back in his chest out of reflex so she doesn't fall. she stares up at him with wide eyes.
eyes that glisten and twinkle even in the darkness. levi knows he's probably going crazy, as he thinks she's an angel seeing as the moonlight that streamed through the large windows only to fall on her and no one else.
his breath is snatched away as she gasps, stepping closer to him and clutching onto his blazer.
he blinks, looking around. everyone was dancing. however, he could also see a desperate man looking around.
he glanced at her, taking his time to admire the beauty in front of him. honestly, levi knows he's never done this before, women have never appealed him in any way. now he's not saying he's anti-romantic (sorry I'm annanti-romantic~), levi just never had time for them nor interest.
but her just standing in front of him like this...damn it, levi knows eyes like hers are definitely his weakness.
" are you in trouble? " he muttered, his voice coming out deeper than he expected. the girl just looks at him wide eyed, before slowly nodding.
he stares at her a second longer, guiding her arm around his neck and stepping closer to hold her waist with a gentle touch, careful of her boundaries as he moved back, joining the crowd of slow dancing people.
she seems surprised but relieved, he likes that look in her eyes. he covered his smitten smile with a smirk, " care to enlighten me with your name? or should i call you stranger? "
