enchanted: chapter four
it was time.
the day of the small yet not so small wedding. y/n had pulled through being around petra who was getting ready for her big day, forced to do her make up by petra's friends.
but after petra was all ready, y/n couldn't stop herself from leaving. petra looks so beautiful, she deserves it. y/n knows, petra has liked levi for so long, it's basically her dream coming true.
she sighs heavily, taking a small step back as the girls gush over petra's wedding dress, making sure no one notices as she leaves the room.
there's only one place she can go where no one will find her. she's glad there's one place even levi doesn't know she often goes to. the market place is not crowded at this hour.
it's strange but also explainable because half of the village would be attending petra's wedding, seeing as petra's father is a really well-known man for his kindness and business.
she slips past the crowd, hiding her face as she reached the shop. she smiled up at the name, pushing the door open.
" mum. "
" y/n?! "
she chuckled as she sees her mother running towards her and enveloping her in a hug she needed so much. comfort seeps through her, easing her pain a little.
" hi, mom. how are you doing? " she sighs out, pulling away. her mother kisses her forehead, before she moves to close the shop for a while, " my darling, i've been as fine as they come. come sit, i'm guessing you want to hide. "
" yes. " y/n enters the staff room of the tea shop and lays down on the couch, her head on her mother's thigh.
" i'm so sorry for what's to happen, n/n. shouldn't you have told him? "
y/n shuts her eyes, letting the tears escape, " what use would it be? he can't possibly break the wedding they have announced to the walls. "
her mother sighs, " everything happens for a reason. you'll be fine, sweetheart. " y/n nods, staring st the clock.
in another hour, levi and petra would be giving each other their vows. the thought alone stabs her heart with a burning rod. it hurts too much
to even think of being there for formality.
she knows she was supposed to be there, it was a strict order from erwin seeing as they needed security. and not just that, levi would want her there. she's his best friend after all.
but she can't bring herself to. not in this state. not when she knows her heart will break irreversibly if she sees levi and petra on the alter.
