modern au! where levi is in denial and thinks the 'hate' he has for his enemy is mutual. he couldn't be more stupid." Damn it. "
Y/n stared down at him, her face blank. " Don't you dare try that again, understand? "
" Oi, what the fuck is your problem? "
Y/n eyed the two boys who rushed to help the horse faced one on the ground. She tilts her head, well if it wasn't the love of her life.
" Why don't you ask him? " She mused, her glare burning into grey eyes that match her expression. The calmer blond beside the raven haired bends down, helping the boy up.
" Why you—"
" Levi, it's okay! " Jean rushed to stop Levi, " I-It was my fault. I was being inappropriate. " He reasoned and Y/n scoffs softly, arms crossed.
" You're self-aware, that's nice. " She glared, causing him to flinch, " Next time you try something, keep in mind that no one likes being touched without permission. "
The three watch as she walked away and the shortest faced Jean, glaring hard. " What did you do? "
" Uh...well I was just flirting as always..." He smiled sheepishly, " I went too far this time. It wasn't anything out of limit, I promise. "
He rushed to explain himself to his gentlemanly friends, knowing they'll murder him if he ever touched a woman the wrong way.
The blond sighs, " It's alright. You need to go to the nurse? That punch looked hard. "
Jean cringed, touching his jaw. " Nah, it's fine. " Levi scoffed, " Let's head back. I'm starving. "
The three walk towards the cafeteria where they already spot her sitting among her friends.
Levi squinted his eyes as they take a seat on their usual table, his glare set on the arm that's around the brunette. If looks could kill, the girl that had her arm around Y/n could be six feet under.
He recalls the other girl is in cheerleading, it's also clear how she's crushing badly on Y/n. He scoffed, stuffing his cheeks with his sandwich.
Not that it mattered. That girl was too pretentious and he hated her guts. Who cares who likes her or touches her?! He didn't.
---
What Levi was also aware of how one sided this rivalry was. He took a sip of his whiskey. The music is loud and disgusting smell of sweat and liquor is in the air.
The eye contact burns every inch of his body, it's a strange feeling but he's used to it.
He gets it every time his eyes meet hers. Her eyes just leave a fire in their trail and he hates it. It irks him.
It doesn't seem to bother her though. Nothing he ever does bothers her, and it's also another reason he always tries to pick fights with her, for a petty reaction.
Right now she sat on the couch across him, also sipping on what seems like her nth drink, he lost count of his own drinks and hers, but she hasn't moved nor broken the eye contact for so long now.
It's edging him, but his body is frozen under her gaze. Her eyes are...for some reason...sultry...or maybe it was just the flashing lights. Right, that could be it.
Much to his irritation, the eye contact is finally broken as a familiar blonde skips towards them and takes a seat beside Y/n — too close for his liking...he'd hate if someone sat that close to him. She was almost leaning on Y/n, a hand on Y/n's thigh.
