Why Me?!

It's already a few months I’ve been with Kenneth. We have a great time together. Only if you think 'bout it, we just met a week before we became like this. But it wasn't unfortunate. Our families are big friends. Only I haven't heard anything about stupid Jack. Even when I got back in Holland I saw him once! ONCE!! But I can live without that stupid jerk. Ppffff I don't even need him! Even with that my life can't be more happy right? Well no. It turned more complicated.

*Some months later...*

'Happy birthday to me!' I whisper to myself when I wake up. Today I’m officially 14!! I shower and wear a hoodie and skinny jeans, since it's already cold in Holland. 'Happy birthday my girl!!!' Yuri says and gives me a hug when she sees me. 'Thanks Yuri' I say and hug her back. 'Today special pancakes and marble syrup JUST FOR YOU!' 'SERIOUS!?' I ask and jump of happiness (  Mr. Ahn eats every pancake he sees so if you just finished your second one he ate 20 or something?). I sit immediately and start eating. When I’m done I hear the front door open and close.

'Happy birthday Minam!!' Mr. Ahn says and he's carrying a big box. 'Is that my present?!!' I yell and run to him. 'Wait!! I got to get mine!' Yuri says and runs upstairs. Later she comes back with a little box but not that big as Mr. Ahn. 'Which one should I open first?' I ask them. 'Mine!!' Yuri says and pushes the box in my hands. 'I think that one' Mr. Ahn chuckles. I open the box and it is a necklace. It's a round gold coin with on the front a flower. On the back there are four names:

'You can wear it so you'll be always being remembered that your parents and we are always with you' Yuri says quietly. And a Lotus flower at the front as... you.' I first give Yuri a tight hug and then Mr. Ahn. 'No matter what I’ll always love you guys as my real parents' I say and a little tear escape out of my eye. 'Don't cry..' Yuri says smiling and wipes away the tear. 'I'll wear it from now on!' and I put it on. 'Now mine!' Mr. Ahn says and he gives me a scissor. I cut the tape away and first see a lot of white stuff. 'You give me white stuff?' I ask Mr. Ahn. 'You got to dig idiot' Yuri Chuckles. I dig and feel something like a big bowl. I grab it and till it out of the box. 'OMG!' I yell. 'A COTTON CANDY MACHINE!! THANK YOUU!!' I give Mr. Ahn such a tight hug that he almost pushed me away. ‘I’ve always wanted one and finally I’ve got one!!! Let me make a Cotton candy for you both!' I say and plug the machine. You sure you know how to make it? Yuri says and holds a pillow in front of her face. Yeah... shouldn't you read the instructions first? Mr. Ahn asks and sits next to Yuri. I've watched it a thousand times how they made this! I say and look for the sugar. First put the sugar in the machine, and then start it. I click on a button and the machine makes a weirdo sound.

Is it going to explode? Yuri whisper. They told me it was the strongest one Mr. Ahn whispers back. I ignore them and get the sticks. The cotton candy starts forming and I make two cotton candies. TADAAA!! I say and show them. Not bad for the first time Yuri says and starts eating one. Uuhhmm... Sweetheart you going to be late for school Mr. Ahn say and look at the clock. Omo!* I run upstairs and gather all my stuff. Have a great day! Yuri says and I give her a hug while putting on a shoe. Quickly! Mr. Ahn says. I jump into the car and he starts riding. Have a nice day girl and happy birthday he says when I’m at school. Bye! I say and run into the school to my locker.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MELODY!! My friends yell and also give me hugs. They also decorated my locker. Thanks guys!! I say. I quickly put my jacket in my locker and walk with them to the cafeteria. Got some presents already? Chloë ask. A necklace and... Cotton candy machine!!! I say happy. Serious?! Gwen says. Let’s go to my place after school? I say. Sure! Mikkie says. Melody! I hear someone say behind me. Can I speak you for a second? Brain, a guy in my class asks.
