Tina's POV
There are a few different games to choose from. From lodu to cards to dominoes. He chooses to play dominoes with my uncles Vincent and Victor alongside my cousin (uncle Vance's son) Nolan.
"Unu can tek one more?" he asks.
"Yeah mn," they agreed to my surprise. They're really reserved and don't accept people very easily.
With Aldaine still hitched onto my side I go to the corner of the house to take a seat where I can see everything.
"I want to play games too," the young boy complained so I gave him my phone and he manoeuvres it really well for a two year old.
I'm staring blankly out of space and once or twice I'm greeted by family members and friends that were invited, thanking me for the invitation before making their way to the festivities.
Out of my peripheral view I see two black Mercedes Benz pulling up into the yard. At first they didn't strike me as significant and they remained that way for a few minutes. Then two men dressed in suits stepped out of the one at the back. The doors to the front one opened and out stepped somebody that made my heart stop.
At that moment my mom was walking towards the front of the house and she witnessed the sight and she froze beside me.
When I regain my breath I look up at her and she glares at me.
"What the hell is he doing here?" she shouts in a whisper. I'm not sure what to tell her so I remain silent.
"Go play baby," I put down the young boy and he ran off.
"I thought I told you to cut all ties with him," she lectures. Her tone is strong and firm, showing her seriousness.
"It's a lot more complicated than that," I manage to choke out. My knees weaken and I'm stunned. I feel like I've been struck by lightning 5 times over. My throat goes dry and I stand up.
"I don't know what this is but fix it, I just got you back…I can't lose you again," she sighs. Her hands caress my face before she walks off as the male figure walks towards us as a means of avoiding him.
In a few long steps he's standing in front of me. His cologne fights my sinuses. I stand with my head bowed and I quietly sigh as I try to keep my composure.
"You don't look happy to see me," he says in the cockiest tone of voice.
"Don't. Why are you here?" I ask, trying to hide the trembling of my voice and hands.
"Can't I just come to see you?" he responds, using his right index finger to lift my head to meet his eyes and I pull away. His Spanish accent is thick and stern.
"No, I'll ask again. Why are you here Xavier?" I ask a little sterner this time around.
He doesn't like that and he makes that known by grabbing and squeezing my face until my cheeks begin to hurt.
"No me hables así querida princesa," (Don't you dare talk to me like that princess) he instructs. He violently lets my face go and I feel tears prick the back of my eyes but once again I'm forced to be strong.
He walks towards the crowd and I run to my bathroom where I cover my face with a pillow before screaming into it. My limbs went numb and I sat down on the toilet and cried to my heart's content.
Oshane's POV
"Double deuce under unu rass," the oldest man at the table shouts as he hits the domino on the table, followed by his very loud laughing. Signalling the end of the game and his win.
