Oshane's POV
Christmas was a few days ago and every time I look at the car my heart skips a beat. It shows me how attentive she is and how much she cares. I had made it my duty to call and wish my family a merry Christmas when I woke up.I'm pulled from my thoughts with the ringing of my phone. I answer without checking the caller ID.
"Wah yuh up to Shane," my brother Omar's voice greets me from the other side of the phone.
"Just a put on mi shoes fi guh pon e road yah deal wid?" I ask, while continuing to secure each shoe as I said I would.
I'm at home but Aldaine wanted to stay with "buba" as he so nicknamed her.
Yuh son a teef yuh gyal
"The gender reveal and baby shower a the first," he informs and I almost forgot about it…almost.
"Alright," I say simply.
"Weh yuh do wid mi nephew?" he asks and I laugh.
"Him over Christine, seh him nuh wah come home wid mi suh mi lef him, glad fi d peace," I tell him truthfully. I love my son but I'm the only one he seems to not listen to.
"Who dat bad man?" he asks and for a second I'm confused but then it hit me that he doesn't know her.
"A young woman I'm talking to," I say with a sheepish grin on my face. It feels real good to say that out loud.
"Eeh, suh waam to Alaine?" he asks and my smile decipates at the mention of her name.
"Dawg nv'n mention har name to mi," I hiss my teeth and pick up my keys and phone.
"Sorry sah," he apologised. I hear Steph call him and he answers.
"Affi guh cut yah now," he says.
"Ahh," I responded and he hung up.
I grab a quick bite of leftover Chinese food that I heated up in the microwave. I can hear my mom saying "microwave foolishness nuh good fi yuh," and I smile to myself. Grabbing the hot plate I head to my freshly wrapped car and my heart smiles.
I hooked my phone up to the car and decided to call Christine to check up on both her and Aldaine.
She answers on the first ring as she does.
"Good morning," I smile even though she can't see me.
"Good morning," she yawns. She doesn't go back into work until the 3rd.
She says she wants to work from home. She loves architecture and has been thinking about doing that. She doesn't have to leave her house more than the ordinary and she could just have an office built on her house.
"Are you and Aldaine alright?" I ask. I take in her appearance. She's wearing black silk shorts and a matching tube top. She's a sight to see even when she's just woken up.
"Yah call a question we fah?" she asks, picking him up and kissing his cheek. He blabbers a few audible words in an attempt to follow her.
"Yes ask him again," she laughs with the young boy still hanging onto her side.
"Ahh, suh a team up ting?" I playfully death stare them both but the smile on my face gives me away. Her laugh widens my smile.
"What are you guys going to do today?" I ask and she shrugs.
"I don't know," she responds after a few seconds.
"Get ready for around 5 o'clock. I'm coming to pick you up. You can bring your friend if you wish," I tell her.
