"So... as you two know, I was able to confirm that Miyeon goes to Seoul University." Yuqi reviewed, as she took a seat on her swivel chair, chewing the end of a pen in her mouth.
"Mhm." Soyeon hummed, as she sank into her beanbag chair.
"I did this by accessing the school's database, with permission of course. I found multiple Miyeons enrolled. What really caught my attention, though..." She went on, typing something on her laptop and looking through her mess of tabs. "Was this girl right here."
"What?" I murmured, standing up from my seat to peer at her screen.
"Her name is Cho Miyeon, just like our lead that we're chasing after. She has a long history of financially supporting Seoul University, even before she was enrolled. In 2020, her family donated a hundred million won. I think this donation might have been to ensure Miyeon's spot in the university. Paying people off to make it into certain schools is not uncommon among wealthy folk. I could be totally wrong about that, though."
"That's all good and stuff, but how do we find her? Should I hit up Minnie and see if that's the same Miyeon?"
"Well, that's the thing I was gonna get to..." Yuqi added. "I think this Miyeon girl is smart. She is using an alias."
"An alias?" Soyeon questioned, raising a brow. "What makes you say that?"
"Well, firstly, have you heard anyone talk about a famous girl around campus? At all?"
A short silence fell over the room as the realization set in.
"You're right." Soyeon agreed. "Even with how big the school is, I feel like people would know if someone as important as her were attending."
"Minnie knows. She said the Miyeon she knows is really rich and from a privileged family. But if that's the case, and Miyeon really is using an alias, does that mean Minnie's Miyeon is out of the question?" I brainstormed.
"No." Yuqi simply stated. "It's very much possible that she gave her real identity to Minnie and Minnie was stupid and spread it around. That would make our job easier, though."
"Can you see what the Miyeon in the database is studying?" Soyeon asked.
"Good thinking. I was just about to bring that up." Yuqi replied, scrolling through her data. "It says here she's currently taking organic chemistry and quantitive physiology, and she took biomedical technology and biomedical engineering design last semester."
"That sounds like a biomedical engineering major, or something like that..." I mumbled out, spacing out as I got lost in deep thought.
"Oh my God." Soyeon suddenly blurted, eyes widening as her gaze locked onto Yuqi's screen.
"Hm?" Yuqi nonchalantly sounded, gently turning in her swivel seat to face us.
"Holy shit. That girl at the café! The waitress!" She exclaimed. Suddenly, everything clicked all at once. It was almost overbearing.
"Oh fuck, you're right!" I gasped, turning my neck sharply to look at her.
"You two gonna tell me what the fuck you're on about, or..."
"[Y/N] and I went out to eat at a local breakfast café yesterday morning. The girl who took our orders stopped to talk to us because she knew Minnie and recognized us." Soyeon explained. "We had a short conversation and she told us she studied biomedical engineering."
