The six of us filed into Liam and Zayn's room. They had drawn the short end of the stick tonight. Apparently.
Every night of the tour they were going to be taking turns hanging out in each others room after a vote. We didn't want to overextend ourselves with one another. Touring was hard enough. On the nights the guys weren't out getting invited to the best A-list clubs and parties of the year, of course.
I smiled as we all fell into different states of exhaustion across the small living area. I saw Louis look longingly at the two beds. Zayn was splayed across a chair, Harry was sitting cross legged on the floor, Niall and I were sat side by side on the couch, Liam was laid on his back in the floor, and Louis stood in the middle of the room contemplating what he wanted to do. He was torn. I could see the exhaustion in his features. I kept my lips sealed and watched his struggle with amusement. Poor Louis.
You would think that the silence among us would be weird but it was comfortable. It was a nice silence after an amazing first concert of the new tour. I had been running on adrenaline the entire day and now I was running on fumes. I imagine they were all in the same boat if Louis was any indication.
"Niall." I sighed as he rested his head against my shoulder.
"Hmmm?" he mumbles.
"I can't go to sleep with you on my shoulder." He huffed a sigh and gave me a pout while pulling himself into a sitting position. He was tired too, I could tell. Preparing for their first night on tour was hectic to say the least. But, this was a rare moment of peace they needed to drink in. The craziness has just begun.
"I can take you back to your room, babe." Niall said as my eyelids drooped. It seemed I was just as exhausted from all the stuff we had done that day. I nodded my head with a faint smile on my lips. He was the best.
"Mates, Delani is knackered. I'm gonna walk her to her room." Niall stood and began his goodbyes. They were all very dramatic about us leaving and acted as if we weren't seeing each other for the next nine months. Right before we closed the hotel door I heard Louis yell, "Be safe you hooligans! This pretty face is not ready to be an uncle just yet."
I'm glad Niall closed the door quickly so they couldn't see the massive blush creeping up my cheeks. There was nothing overly romantic going on with the two of us like everyone seemed to think. Even the media.
"Louis sometimes." I scoffed shaking my head. Niall let out one of his signature loud laughs, grabbing my hand and intertwining our fingers. I smiled despite myself.
We entered the elevator at the end of the hall that would carry us to my floor. I leaned against the wall of the elevator as my phone buzzed.
From: Louie (because he hates that spelling, ha)
-too bad we couldn't get any alone time today. i really would like to talk. see u later love xx
I hastily locked my phone and shoved it deep into my shorts pocket. They all knew I texted and kept up with each of them individually but it would be rude to respond while Niall was here. I had become weirdly close with Louis. He was a handful and a half, once you got to know him well. I smiled to myself thinking about how unruly they all were at times. Niall noticed me smiling and snaked his arm around my t-shirt clad waist.
"You're so cute." he said into my ear as we stepped out of the elevator. I giggled, blushing even more than normal. My cheeks were certainly getting a workout today. We walked to my room, which so happened to be on a floor without any of the guys. Thank goodness. I didn't need them randomly knocking on my door all hours of the night. They could be a bit much.
We stood outside my hotel room door holding hands. I knew I should take my handaway but it felt too nice.
"I'm really exhausted." I pouted.
"Get in there and get some sleep. I'll let ya rest and see ya in the morning." He gave me a lazy grin before kissing my cheek. It was soft and sweet, just like him.
"You boys don't have too much fun." I called after him down the corridor. Niall threw his hands up in the air and just laughed with a shrug. I went in and shut my door after I saw him step onto the elevator. I knew perfectly well they were all too exhausted to do anything tonight. Now, the rest of the tour I don't think I will be able to say that. They were guys after all.
I undressed slowly, placing my clothes neatly on the small couch in from of my bed that faced the flat screen TV. I wasn't a neat freak but we were going to be on the road for several months before I would be able to switch out my wardrobe. I pulled on some comfortable sweatpants with an over sized sweater. I tossed my hair over my shoulder and fashioned a messy side braid, ready to fall into bed. I was just about to climb in when a knock sounded on my hotel door. My heart rate picked up speed. I stood, wiping my palms on my sweatpants and walked over to open the door. I waited a moment before answering it, wondering if I should just pretend to be asleep. I dismissed that idea as soon as it surfaced and opened the door anyway.
I looked up into twinkling green eyes. He smiled down at me. I could feel my cheeks flush once again. He leaned down and softly but firmly kissed me. I could feel his smile against my lips.
"Miss me?" He asked cheekily. I laughed in his face as I pulled him into my room and slammed the door. So much for being exhausted.
