Dale's POV
"Alpha, the Gamma of Bright Moon Pack is here." Imporma sa akin ni Bryan. I was currently doing my Alpha duties. Kian run away and he's patrolling at the border. Iniwan niya ang mga ibinigay kong trabaho sa kaniya.
Hindi ko nga alam kung bakit siya ang ginawa kong Beta ko. Well, it's not really that I made him as my Beta but his current position right now, he inherited it from his parents. His parents were the former Beta of this pack but now they're enjoying their life like my parents.
Tumingin ako kay Bryan. "Let him in."
Tumango si Bryan saka lumabas.
I wonder why Alpha Keanu sent his Gamma in my pack. This is the first time. But oh, well, it must be important.
Tumingin ako sa may pinto nang maramdaman ko ang presensiya ni Bryan kasama ang Gamma ng Bright Moon Pack.
"Alpha." Yumuko ang Gamma ng Bright Moon Pack. "I am Elijah, the Gamma of Bright Moon Pack."
"What can I do for you?" I asked Gamma Elijah.
"Alpha, my Alpha ask me to give you this. He said that he lost the bet. He also said that you two share the same fate." The Gamma of Bright Moon Pack handed the rectangle paper bag he was holding to Bryan.
Inilabas naman ni Bryan ang laman ng rectangle na paper bag. "Alpha, it's a wine and it's expensive."
Natawa ako ng mahina at napailing. "Alpha Keanu is really a man of his words." Tumingin ako sa Gamma ng Bright Moon Pack. Kumunot ang nuo ko nang maalala ko ang sinabi niya. "We share the same fate? What does he mean?"
Ngumiti ang Gamma ng Bright Moon Pack saka nagsalita. "Alpha, my Alpha already knew that you've also found your mate. But he admitted defeat because he knew that he was really the one who found his mate first so, he's wishing you good luck." Yumuko ang Gamma. "I shall take now my leave. Ahmm... Alpha Dale."
"What?"
Gamma Elijah grinned. "Alpha Keanu said that he's looking forwards to drink wine with you."
Tumango ako. "One of these days."
Gamma Elijah bowed.
"Bryan, ihatid mo si Gamma Elijah hanggang sa labas."
"Yes, Alpha."
"Gamma Elijah, send my regards to Alpha Keanu."
"Makakarating, Alpha."
Nang makaalis ang dalawa, tinignan ko ang wine na ipinadala ni Alpha Keanu. It is one of the expensive wines in the country. I bet he lost his millions. Napailing ako saka natawa. Ang lakas talaga ng sumpa ni Alpha Yael kay Alpha Keanu. Mabuti na lang at hindi ako ang nakita ni Alpha Yael, well, muntikan nga lang.
Napatingin ako sa cellphone ko na nakapatong sa lamesa sa harapan ko nang marinig ko itong tumunog. Mabilis kong pinulot ang cellphone ko nang makita kong si Candace ang tumatawag. It was the first time she called me. Ako lang ang tumatawag sa kaniya. But whatever...
"Muffin."
"Are you busy?" tanong ni Candace.
I looked at the loads of papers works in front of me. "No."
"Can you come over?"
Mabilis akong napatayo. "Bakit? May nangyari ba sa 'yo?" Nag-aalala kong tanong.
"Wala naman. I just wanted to ask if you wanted to have lunch with me."
Napangiti ako ng malawak. "Ngayon na ba?"
