"ALPHA, urgent! Bad news!" Nagmamadaling lumapit si Noah kay Alpha Dale. They were at the pack border and doing pack patrol.
"What is it?" tanong ni Alpha Dale. "Or catch your breath first."
Noah took a deep breath and then he exhaled. "Alpha, I don't know if this is good news or bad news."
Kumunot ang nuo ni Dale. "Say it."
"Alpha, may pumasok na rogue sa bahay ni Luna Candace." Imporma ni Noah.
"What did you say? Then why are you here?! You are supposed to save your Luna!" Galit na saad ni Dale. He was about to go to Candace's house when Noah blocked him.
"Noah, what are you doing?" Nagtatakang tanong ni Bryan.
Noah bowed his head. "Alpha, hear me out first. Though they are rogue but they seem to be harmless. The Luna addressed them as 'Dad' and 'Papa'."
Lahat ay natigilan.
"Candace's parents?" Dale asked. He was now confused. The he remembered Candace's parent's pictures when he visited her before.
Tumango si Noah.
"Bumalik na sila." Sambit ni Alpha Dale. But then he frowned and looked at Noah. "Rogue? Baka nagkamali ka lang."
Umiling si Noah. "Alpha, I don't dare to deceive you. The Luna's parents are really rogue."
"I need to make sure." Sabi ni Dale at tumakbo patungo sa direksiyon ng bahay nila Candace.
Sumunod naman agad si Noah.
Bryan was left with the pack warriors. They continued to patrol the pack boarders.
Dumating si Alpha Dale at Noah malayo sa kinaroroonan ng bahay nila Candace pero malinaw niyang nakikita ang nangyayari sa loob ng bahay nila Candace.
He saw Candace's parents. They look ordinary but Dale sniffed rogue scent from them.
Dale sighed. This is harder than I thought.
"Alpha, what's your plan now?" tanong ni Noah.
"I need to find out who was Candace's parents. Looking at the situation right now. Candace was adopted by them. I should be grateful but I need to make sure that my mate is safe with them." Seryosong saad ni Dale.
One of Candace's parents looked at his direction and meet his eyes. Dale didn't hide but he also looked at them. Narinig niyang tinanong ni Candace kung ano ang tinitignan ng magulang nito sa direksiyon niya. Candace's parents just answered, "nothing. I just saw a mutt over there."
Kumuyom ang kamay ni Dale.
Pinigilan naman ni Noah ang sarili na tumawa dahil narinig rin nito ang sinabi ng magulang ni Candace.
"Papa, ano pong mayroon?" tanong ni Candace. Tinignan niya ang tinitignan ng Papa Niel niya sa labas pero wala naman siyang makita.
Niel shook his head. "Nothing. I just saw a mutt over there." Aniya.
"Mutt?" Nagtaka si Candace at mabilis na tumingin sa labas ng kanilang bahay. Kumunot ang nuo niya nang wala siyang makita maliban sa mga dahon at mga halaman. "Wala naman, Papa."
Kumunot ang nuo ni Niel. "Bakit parang interesado ka?"
Ngumiti lang si Candace saka umiling. "Wala po."
"Bakit may nakita ka bang malaking aso?" tanong ni Niel sa anak.
Ngumiti lang si Candace. "Wala po." She remembered the brown wolf she met. Kailan niya kaya ulit makikita 'yon? Nangalumbaba siya sa mesa.
