RING RING "Hey, girl! Your game is at 1:30, right?" "Yep!" "I'll be there. Don't worry." "Thank you for all the support." I smiled and yawned. "Alright, girl! Hop on!" The captain shouted. "Got to go. Bye." "Bye!" "Hey, girl! You're sitting next to me!" Chelsea said. "Great," I muttered. "No sleep here I come."
Mina's POV: It was time for me to leave so I can make it to my best friend's match. It was a free period right now so that was good. I was packing my bag and was about to leave but my friends came over. "Hey, Mina! Where ya going?" "Ummm...oh well since you guys know now, I'll just tell you." "What is it?" "You guys remember Marinette?" I saw Bakugou perk up. He's been acting weird ever since he met Marinette. "So Marinette plays Volleyball with her school. So they have competitions so I like going to show my support. And she has a game at 1:30. So I got to leave now so I could make it." "Ooh! Can we come too?!" "Umm...I guess. But we gotta go now." They grabbed their bags and we all left to catch the train.
After getting there and finding out seats, we sat down with snacks. "Ok, my girl's team is Ace. They'll be coming out any second for warm-ups." "This is so cool! I have never been to a game before!" "Well, she's amazing at what she does!" "What does she do?" "She's a libero! Pretty cool!" "Now calling up........ Ace! From Horikoshi Highschool!" "That's her!"
Marinette's POV: I ran out with my team waving at the crowds. "Marinette!" "Mina!" I waved and screamed. Oh...the guys are here too. I waved at them too. I went with my team to warm up.
"Let's go Marinette!" Couch shouted while throwing the ball. I ran and got ready to hit it. I threw myself down and hit it up into the air. "Yes!" I screamed and did my victory dance. "Another!" I almost missed it but I pushed my leg down and saved it. "Last one!" I did a half split and saved the ball with a low hit and jumped back into the air to do my happy dance. "Great job Marinette!" I heard a shout and realized it was Kaminari. "Thank you!" "You got some fans." My teammate said. "Who are the cute guys?" "Stop." I groaned.
When the other team came I immediately glared at the other libero. My ex-best friend. We were best friends in Middle School. We both wanted to be Liberos so we did this competition to see who could be the libero of the team and I won. She got so mad that she quit and left the school too. Now and then we go against each other in competitions.
"Alright, chill girl. We know you and Alya are against each other. Please just focus." "Oh, I will focus. I'll defeat her." I glared in her direction watching her warm up. "Yo Marinette!" I looked up at the boys waving. "Cool down! We could feel your flames from up here!" "Kind of reminds me of Bakubro!" "Shut the fuck up!" "Good luck, girl!" I sighed and stretched my legs by doing half splits.
"Alright! Teams get ready! We'll start with team Ace!" "You got this girls!" I twisted my arm in circles while getting into my position. Our server got ready and served the ball. the ball went over the net and the game finally began.
"Mine!" I yelled out and did a pancake and saved the ball. Someone hit the ball to the other side but Alya saved the ball the same way I did and the ball got out of court. I glared at her and she did too.
Bakugou's POV: "Woah...Marinette is super fast." "I think she has beef with the other libero." "That's Alya. Marinette and she were best friends in Middle school and even joined the Volleyball team together. But since they both wanted to be the libero they did a competition. Marinette won, and Alya got mad and quit and left the school. And now they fight every time they see each other." Mina explained. "And the 2nd set goes to the All-Net!" "Go, girl!" Mina screamed out. "There will be a 15-minute break then we'll start with the last set!" I leaned over the edge and saw Marinette panting and sweating. She had a towel and was wiping her face and neck. "C'mon Marinette! You got to focus! You could have gotten that last point!" "It's alright. Just win this last set." "Marinette!" I think their captain grabs Marinette's shoulders. "If you don't focus right now, you're sitting out the rest of the set." "But you can't! I'm your only libero!" "I'm pretty sure one of the subs can replace you for this set." "....No!" Marinette grabbed her bottle and stormed off. "Oh no..." Mina muttered while watching her run off.
I silently stood up. "Where you going, Bakubro?" "Snacks," I muttered and walked off the stadium. I walked down the stairs and went where the halls were. I walked around and heard sniffling. I walked through the hallway and saw a water fountain. Marinette was hunched over it. She was shaking. "C'mon....fuck.." She muttered. She threw her water bottle across the hall making water spill everywhere. She stared at it and then punched the brick wall.
"I know right? Their libero was glaring at Alya!" I saw 2 girls walk around the corner. They were from the other team. I saw Marinette freeze and start panicking. I sighed and walked towards her. I grabbed her shoulders and pulled her to my chest and wrapped my arms around her neck and head to keep her in place. She froze and kept quiet until the two girls walked past us.
"Thank you..." She muttered quietly after they left. "Whatever. Let me see your hand." "No-" "I didn't ask." She sighed and gave me her hand. Her knuckles were red and scratched. "You're a Volleyball player. You need your hands. You can't go around punching walls." I muttered while rubbing her knuckles gently. "I'll be fine." She said. I sighed and went to grab her bottle from the floor. I filled it up and gave it to her. "Thanks." She muttered and took a long sip. "Now get back out there....and beat the fuck out of her," I said while staring into her eyes. She stared into my eyes as well and then smiled hugely and nodded. "Thank you!" She squealed and jumped onto me throwing her arms around my neck. "No problem," I muttered and held her.
