❝TAE❞
The front doors of the GMC SUBURBAN closed in unison after parking in front of the tinted non-reflective glass storefront of the retail suite. BKR Cannabis Dispensary was apart of Tae becoming one of the few Black CEOs in the legit cannabis industry. It's been something he wanted to tap into for years and had planned. But once Romeo started smoking it and diagnosed with bipolar disorder, he took notice to how the way the marijuana kept him balanced along with his meds and that's what pushed him to put the plan into fruition and bring BKR to life.
BKR has only been open for currently two months and has been extremely lucrative. BKR grows, processes, and sells all types of pot products and even a weed and edible strain—Rome Leaf—that was dedicated to his son and his disorder. Tae didn't start the strain blindly. He actually worked closely with a doctor that specializes in bipolar disorders and a chemist to perfect what would keep Romeo stabilized with the prescribed meds he was on.
With his brothers coming onto the BKR Cannabis Brand, he would be expanding to every cannabis legal state across the U.S. to widen the brand and the first spot to open another dispensary would be in Oregon since that's the location of his crop and growing farm.
After years of a earthy drug being illegal and Black brothers being arrested and harassed by officers for having it back in the day, Tae was on a path of cannabis wealth and bringing his brother's along would send a "fuck you" to the cops that disrupted their hustle.
Getting out the hood and drafting to the NBA was just the start of generational wealth for the Bookers.
BRK interior gave off modern retail store with a white quartz and sleek black walls, with accents of marble, punctuating with the signature brand color, deep red. The lighting offered a warm glow and showroom that has private niches with displays that organized BKR merchandise by brand and products—vapes, edibles, drinks, clothes—for purchase.
Holding the door open for Romeo wearing a oversized fit TUFF CROWD sweatshirt with the bold signature on the back and chest with faded grey wash jeans and high-top JORDAN 12s was Tae. He soon followed the seventeen-year-old in and Ice Cube came out the dispensary speakers at the low volume. Upon entering, two New Yorkers were looking over private niches with a BKR employee.
"Yo!" Tae announced, getting their attention.
"Yurr!" Dave exchanged a hand fold with Tae before looking over at a tall Romeo. "BIG RO! Look at you kid. You bout the same height as yo' Pop ova' hea." He chuckled dapping Romeo.
"Boy getting big as fuck," Tae stated. "He tell you he a Daddy now."
"I heard! Y'know Cru can't hold water." Dave mentioned as they laughed and asked to see a photo. Romeo was quick to show off his now one-month-old. "Damn that's you. He beautiful, man. Y'know babies come quicker the second time around; better put a blocker on."
"Oh I ain't. I'm done."
"Yeah. He better that."
"This my li'l brotha Errol." Dave introduced and he walked over to greet the father and son. "We was already in Cali since I gotta show tonight and I had to come by and check out BKR. Just know I'm bouta buy ya weed out."
