❝SHANTEY❞
"Do you really gotta leave again?" Cru asked, watching his mother pull him out him a outfit to wear to the barbecue they were throwing for her before she leaves for her tour."Sadly, I do," Shantey placed a comfortable outfit on his bed, "It's gonna go by pretty fast. You're going with your Dad for Christmas break. Have you talked to him today?"
Cru yawned, "Uhh yeah, he called me earlier. Can I ask you a question without you getting mad?"
"I'll never get mad at you for wanting to know something." Shantey assured the eleven-year-old, "Ask me."
"How come you and Dad can't come together the way you and Tae can?"
Shantey set her steady gaze on Cru as he awaits her answer. "Me and your Dad's situation is the way it is because of us. No one's to blame more than the other because we both caused this toxic rift between us. And we have been quite selfish because it's affecting you for you to even ask that. We both allowing our traumas to push us apart when we should be coming together for you and of course Boogie."
"Can y'all fix it?"
"Honestly, we don't have a choice and we will."
"I mean y'all both cool parents. I think y'all can be friends after doing all the healing stuff. Cause, full transparency, it's getting unhealthy for me. I told Dad, too. I don't like feeling I have to tip toe around any one of my parents."
"And that's how you've been feeling lately?"
"Yeah. I been tryna hide it, but I'm not bouta do that. So, I told both of y'all that it's affecting me and now it's time for y'all as parents to figure out a way to make it healthy for me."
Shantey nods, taking in the venting her eleven-year-old gave her. "We're gonna do that. I promise."
That's all Cru needs to hear. "Cool. We matching?"
"Seona stole me."
"She always do."
"That's boss baby." Shantey chuckles, "We leaving in a little bit."
Cru gave her a okay before leaving out Cru's room to give him privacy and went to get dressed with Seona. Shantey was tucking in Seona's BALENCIAGA Los Angeles shirt in the waistline of her jogging pants when Azoni pulls up on her matching jogging pants to stand whilst leaning his head back to drink out of his cup.
