❝TAE❞
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗬"Gimme the top four sneakers wore on the West Coast in the 90s."
The manager of their Booker Brothas brand, Arie Brandt, enters the conference space of their foundation's office as the question came out of her mouth. Arie was a heavy hitter in the industry and had the reputation to take brands to another level positively and successfully. She was a South Central native herself and she had the attitude and tough skin to deal with strong minded, forthright, and opinionated brothers as the three Bookers.
"That's easy: Chucks, Suede Pumas, Nike Cortez's, and Reebok Classics," De answered.
"And what shoes am I rockin?" Arie asked, lifting her shoe up on the table to show the Classics.
"Reeboks," Toby chuckles, "You gotta point to all this?"
Arie placed her sneaker back on the floor. "Of course, big brotha. Reebok's wanting to partner with y'all's Booker Brothas brand to design y'all's own pair of Classics. They want to do a exclusive endorsement deal—merchandise, and charitable initiatives with TCF."
Knowing the business, Tae speaks, "That sound like a lifetime deal."
"Possibly if revenue goals are met. Definitely an extended contract which mean y'all will take on president roles of the Booker Brothas brand. Y'all will receive 5% of every shoe or merch sold. I can negotiate a higher percentage when it comes to the merch part cause they was wanting to add in Tuff Crowd, too. We can kill two birds in one stone."
"And how much are they offering for us to sign wit just that?"
"75 million," Arie answered Toby.
"Now, going back into my hustler mentality," De cleared his throat wit a chuckle, "Tuff Crowd clothing bringing in how much a year, Books?"
"Around a 100 mill."
"In counting," Toby adds.
"So, you gettin' where I'm goin' wit this, Arie?" De asked, "Put the deal they offering for just the Booker Brothas to the side for a minute. They wanting to collab wit Tuff Crowd as well that's making more than what they offering. We'll be some mark asses to take that deal and they wanting to collab wit my brotha clothing that's making way more than the offer wit the five percent. You break that 75 mill down we getting a good what, six figures? Hell na. They get Tuff Crowd when they come wit a better sign on offer, especially wit it possibly leading up to a lifetime deal and us not being able to endorse wit no other shoe brand."
