I looked up at the familiar street sign as I walked past. Dorcas Street. That's where I live. I turned onto Napfle and then Algon and continued walking along Algon for a while. I passed the high school and then the Sunoco and I came upon something, or rather, someone. In the middle of the sidewalk lay a man, a very familiar man.
I ran over to him and checked his pulse. He had a normal pulse and he was breathing which was a good sign but he was knocked out. "Jake!" I called shaking him. "Jake! Wake up!" Nothing doing. I pulled out my phone and called the ambulance. When they pulled up I saw my Uncle Larry get out. I told them what I knew which wasn't much. "His name is Jacob Shim, he's Australian, and he's eighteen years old. I found him like this. I don't know what happened."
"We'll put him in the ambulance and check his vitals," my uncle told me. "Do you want to come with?" I nodded and texted my mother telling her where I was going and who I was with. "Say hi to Uncle Larry for me," she texted back. They took him to Nazareth Hospital.
He was completely healthy. The doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong. He finally woke up a week later. "Hi Jake," I said. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm okay," he answered. "Who are you?" "I'm a fan of yours. My name is Shoshana."
"Fan? I have fans?"
"Yeah. Engene. You're kind of famous."
"I am? And what's an Engene?"
"Yes. You're part of a kpop Group called Enhypen. Engene is the fandom name. You debuted November 30th 2020 with the Border Day One album title track Given-Taken. You are one of seven members. You're other members are Jay, Niki, Sunghoon, Heeseung, Sunoo, and leader Jungwon. The seven of you were part of a survival show lland where you worked hard at your debut for three months. Does any of this ring a bell?"
Jake shook his head. "I don't remember anything."
I looked up a picture of him on my phone to show him but he couldn't tell me what it was from. He had lost his memory.
Just then, I got a tweet notification from BeLift Lab: Enhypen member Jake has gone missing! Please email us with any information you might know!
"Hey Jake, can I take a picture of you?" I asked. He nodded and I took a selfie. I then emailed Belift Lab telling them our location and everything that had happened. A phone started ringing and I turned to see what I assumed was Jake's phone, ringing. I picked it up. "Hello," I answered.
"Oh... Hi... Jake?"
"No. My name is Shoshana. Jake is next to me."
"Jake... okay?"
"Jake is okay. Who is this?"
"Me? Sunoo."
"Can I talk to Jay?"
"Jay? Yes."
"Jay hyung." I heard him yell. Pretty soon Jay was on the phone. "Anyeonghasseyo?"
"Hi. Jay?"
"Yes."
"I'm with Jake. I found him a week ago on my walk. He was unconscious but completely healthy. He woke up earlier today but he doesn't remember anything. I tried to jog his memory talking about you guys and fland but it didn't work. Neither did pictures."
"Can I talk to him?"
"Sure."
I handed the phone over to Jake. "It's your friend Jay," I told him. "Jay?" He asked. I nodded.
"Hello?" He spoke into the phone.
"I'm okay... I don't remember... maybe... I don't know... okay, bye." He handed the phone back to me. "Can you give me your email or something so I can contact you and you can send me your location?"
