Chapter 49

*Short Chapter*

Monday, 9:34 am

In the bunker

Dean's POV

Dean: Kid, I've already let you sleep for too long. You have to get up and get started on your school work.

Katie: 5 more minutes.

Dean: No. I gave you 5 more minutes, 34 minutes ago.

Katie: Well I'm still tired.

Dean: You don't have much to do. You're ahead in most of your classes. So just do what you aren't ahead in, then you can come back to bed.

Katie: I don't feel like working. I feel like sleeping.

Dean: If you get up, I'll let you have as much coffee as you want.

Katie: Why didn't you start with that? She asks as she's already making her way out the door.

I follow her to the kitchen, and watch as she starts making coffee.

Dean: You're a coffee addict, just like your Dad.

Katie: Have you seen most other 16 years olds? I could be addicted to so much worse. I could be doing crack.

Dean: Alright. Let's cut the attitude and get you to the library. You're already 39 minutes behind on your work.

She finishes making her coffee, then goes to the library. I go with her, just to make sure that she's actually gonna do her work. I trust her to do her work without being supervised, but she gets distracted really easily. I just wanna make sure that she stays on track with her school work. After she finishes her school work, she can get distracted all she wants to. But she needs to get her work done first.

Katie: I don't need you to watch me. I'm perfectly capable of doing my work without being watched.

Dean: I'm just gonna make sure that you don't get distracted.

Katie: But I don't need you to do that.

Dean: Judging by all the times we've left you alone to do your work, yes, you do. Sit down and get started.

Katie: Whatever.

She sits down and starts doing her school work. She's doing alright so far. After a while, I get a text from Sam. I guess I can answer, while Katie's doing her work. I can take my eyes off of her for a few seconds.

Sam: Mornin.

Dean: Mornin.

Sam: Did you get Katie up for school?

Dean: Yeah. She's working, right now. She didn't want to, but she's working.

Sam: She'll complain a little bit, but as long as she's getting her work done, I just let her be.

Dean: I think she's working on Algebra. She looks like she's doing good so far.

Sam: Is she alright? She sounded kinda upset last night.
