As Malfoy Manor was quickly filling up on Christmas Eve, no one could deny the slight tension filling the room due to the previous bickering everyone had over heard upon arrival. Scorpius tried to enjoy himself but couldn't help but wonder why his sister was hiding out in her room while everyone else was enjoying one of the best Christmas Eve's he's ever experienced.
"Since when did your dad become a holiday party host?" Dominique asked Scorpius, pulling him back to reality. Scorpius let out a small laugh and shrugged.
"He usually works Christmas Eve, except for last year when we were invited to Romania. I think he just wanted to make it extra special this year." Scorpius explained with a shrug before all the adults had rejoined their children.
"The only thing missing is Cassi and Lysander." Roxanne said with a small frown, earning an eye roll from Veronica.
"Actually im now officially present but i was just about to ask where Cas was." Lysander said, making his presence known.
"Hiding out in her room. Try convincing her to come down and hang out." Victoire told him with a smile. He nodded in reply before heading towards the stairs. Veronica rolled her eyes.
"I doubt she will. She's upset because she got in trouble." Veronica scoffed. Theo and Blaise started laughing.
"I knew you wouldn't even last a week without losing your mind." Theo said as he continued to laugh. Draco rolled his eyes at him.
"She hid a letter from McGonagall about her shitty grades in one of her text books and continued to lie and deny that she hid it. I just wish she'd be more like Scorpius sometimes, he never did shit like this." Draco defended himself, clearly frustrated.
"There you go again comparing me to your perfect little angel. I remember quite clearly that he crashed your car and lied about it for months, but i guess that's fine and so much better than hiding a fucking letter that I didn't even touch to begin with." Cassiopeia defended herself making her presence known before she took a seat next to Lorcan and Lysander taking a seat on the other side of her.
"That was a little harsh, Dad." Scorpius said awkwardly, earning nods from around the room.
"Come on, all the blame can't be placed on him. How many times has she said some pretty harsh things towards him? People say things they don't mean at the wrong time. She's just over reacting." Veronica disagreed. Lorcan went to speak but stopped himself.
"Talk about a nightmare before Christmas, am i right?" Albus asked with a small laugh, trying to ease the tension.
"I think the nightmare is about to enter now, mate. Merry Christmas Eve, Ellie." Theo greeted the woman with a smile, which quickly disappeared as he noticed the woman that had entered the room behind her. She sent the man a glare before turning to Draco.
"Why is he here?" Ellie asked her husband. Draco shrugged before taking a sip of his drink.
"A more appropriate question is why is she here?" Pansy asked referring to Daphne. Ellie rolled her eyes in response.
"Not like we're staying and I heard that, Theodore. I just remembered that I had put a letter from McGonagall with Cassi's stuff a few days ago and i just wanted to make sure you got it." Ellie informed her husband with a smirk. Cassi shook her head in disbelief as the woman left with her aunt without another word.
"What a plot twist." Hugo thought out loud, earning a glare from his mother and Albus to stifle a laugh.
"A nightmare indeed, Theo." Harry said with a chuckle before taking a sip of his drink.
