Malfoy Manor quickly became full right at 8 o'clock. Lysander and Lorcan had eventually snuck away from the crowd and onto the back patio. Lorcan sat down as Lysander closed the door before he joined his brother. Lysander passed a cigarette to Lorcan before lighting his own and sitting back, causing Lorcan to do the same.
"Have you talked to Cassi?" Lorcan asked his brother curiously. Lysander furrowed his eyebrows at him in confusion.
"About?" He asked him curiously.
"You leaving. You always said your goal after college was to travel and study as many animals you possibly could. Have you talked to her?" Lorcan asked him once again. Lysander let out a small sigh and shrugged.
"Things change. Cas is my future. The only thing I really want to talk to her about is starting a family and seeing if she wants to plan an actual wedding and do it the right way. Im content and happy with how things are." Lysander explained to him before taking a sip of his drink. Lorcan smiled at him and nodded.
"Career wise, what's your plan now?" Lorcan asked him curiously.
"Im sticking with the zoo. I enjoy it there. Sarah and Lila are going to France for a few months and Sarah offered me partial ownership so I could run things for her while she's away. I accepted. Haven't told Cas yet so keep it between us. What about you?" Lysander asked his brother. Lorcan sighed as he shrugged.
"Pretty sure im going to stick with psychiatric hospital for now. Always wanted to be a therapist but I honestly don't think it'll make me as happy. Im just happy to finally have medical degree in psychology." Lorcan told him before reaching into his pocket. He pulled out a little box and opened it before passing it to his brother. Lysander examined the diamond and sapphire ring and smiled. "Marriage and starting a family sounds pretty great too. Fred helped pick it out." Lorcan quickly added.
"It's insane how we're sitting here right now talking about this shit. I honestly never thought I'd see this day." Lysander said as he passed the ring back to his brother. Lorcan let out a small laugh as he nodded in agreement. The space between the two men quickly filled with silence.
"I knew I shouldn't have came, they're so fucking immature." Lorcan and Lysander turned their heads as the words left Albus's mouth.
"You guys are still going at it?" Lorcan asked as Albus and Lily sat down across from them.
"It's been a year, dude. A whole fucking year. Thats why I haven't really hung out with anyone. I came tonight for you guys. They're making a huge fucking deal about me having a couple drinks knowingly perfectly well that drinking isn't my issue." Albus explained before finishing his drink. Lily sighed as she passed her brother her glass. "Thanks." Albus muttered before drinking it.
"You guys should seriously talk it out. You guys are brothers." Lysander reminded him. Albus rolled his eyes at him.
"I've tried. They just refuse to listen." Albus defended himself. Lily nodded in agreement.
"Albus has shockingly been the mature one. They're being dicks and I honestly don't understand why." Lily defended her brother.
"I think they were just hurt with how you handled things. I understand why you disappeared for a while and I think you're very valid in your decision to do so. But I would honestly be pissed at my brother if he just completely pushed me away with no explanation when all I wanted to do was help. I think all three of you should be apologizing. You may not realize it, but you kinda hurt them and im sure they're expecting some form of apology or explanation from you." Lorcan told him with a shrug. Albus let out a sigh, but Lily cut him off before he could even get a word out.
"How he handled things hurt me but at the same time I understood why he isolated himself and I don't expect him to explain himself whatsoever." Lily defended her brother. Albus smiled at her before responding.
"No, I think he's right. Everyone is different. I think I might have to swallow my pride on this one. I've been missing how close we all use to be." Albus told her with a small smile. Lorcan and Lysander smiled at the two of them.
"I just solved a Potter sibling fight. I feel so complete. I feel like a fucking hero." Lorcan said, causing Lily and Albus both to roll their eyes.
"It's not happening tonight. Tonight is about you two and your weird obsession with school. We should probably get back to the party." Albus told him. The group got up and made their way back inside to rejoin the others. For the first time in ages, there was very little drama and everyone was visibly enjoying themselves. Lysander and Lorcan smiled at one another before clinking their glasses together.
"We fucking made it." They both said simultaneously before finishing off their drinks.
