The above picture is pretty much how I've pictured Zev and Liana while writing this story...

*Zev*

Follow her! My wolf shouted.

I gritted my teeth. I have never felt pulled to someone the way I felt pulled to that blonde. That beautiful blonde, who wasn't a shifter. I would have been able to tell if she was, even from a distance, so she was just a human. And I certainly had never been affected like this by a human, or even a wolf. I would be an alpha like my father and would one day take over the Moonshadow pack. I was also waiting for my true mate. Although some shifters thought it was a myth, meeting your true mate was supposed to be intense. They called it Moonstruck. As soon as a shifter turned seventeen, they would experience being Moonstruck as soon as they saw their true mate. I, however, was eighteen and hadn't found her yet, some shifters never did and settled for compatible mates instead. This girl, whoever she was, shouldn't even be a blip on my radar.

"Hey Zev, what's with you?" Rafe Hadden , my best friend and future beta, asked as he playfully punched me on the shoulder.

I scowled and pretended to punch him in the face. "Nothing."

"You sure?"

"Yeah," I said, slamming my locker door shut.

"Ugh, we should just skip our next class," Priscilla Palma said, smiling sweetly at me. "What do you think?" She flipped her dark red hair over her shoulder and batted her dark brown eyes at me. "We could go for a walk or something." She said sultry.

"I think that would make me a bad example for our younger pack-mates," I said curtly.

Priscilla frowned. "They don't have to know," She said in irritation.

I resisted rolling my eyes. I'd known Priscilla since we were pups but had never seen her as anything but one of the pack. Unfortunately, she never seemed to get the hint. "No." I said firmly. Priscilla was definitely not my true mate and I had never been seen her as more than a friend.

Sarina Padgett laughed. "You just don't want to face our math quiz today." She teased Priscilla.

Ignoring Priscilla's pout, I narrowed my eyes at two male younger years starting to fight further down the hallway. One of them was human but the other was a wolf in my pack. I stalked forward and grabbed Trevor, who was in his sophomore year, by the arm and pulled him back. "Enough!" I snapped.

The human boy, whose name I didn't know or care to know, rubbed his sore looking jaw. "This is between us!" He said, although his eyes showed relief at the fight being stopped.

I bared my teeth at him and the boy paled. He may not know that I was a wolf but even a human could sense the danger emitting from me. "Go away." I growled. I dragged Trevor away from the gawking crowd and then slammed him against a locker. "Explain yourself!" I ordered in a dark voice.

Trevor averted his eyes. All the younger shifters knew I would be Alpha one day and already treated me as such. "I lost my temper," He admitted. "I can't stand Paul. He keeps saying our football team is a joke."

I sighed. "You know it's not true so why do you care what that fool says?"

Trevor shrugged."I don't know. I'm sorry." He mumbled.

"You could have really hurt him, you know you are much stronger than the humans," I said quietly. "You're only allowed to play football because you promised not to rely on your shifter abilities. What I just saw showed me that maybe you shouldn't be on the team."

Trevor's eyes widened. "No, please Zev," He pleaded. "I love being on the team and I'm usually good about not using my shifter strength and not losing my temper."
