*Liana*

Lorelei helped patch me up although my speedy healing was kicking in. I then took a shower and put on the clothes Zev had brought for me. I went into the Armstead's living room and Zev immediately stood up from the sofa and pulled me close. "Feeling better?" He asked, his eyes roving over me anxiously.

I nodded and buried my face in his strong chest. "I was so afraid I would never be in your arms again," I whispered.

Zev's arms tightened around me. "I'm never letting you go."

I laughed lightly. "So we're going to go through life with you holding me?" I asked teasingly.

"Yes," Zev looked into my eyes. "I was so scared that I had lost you. When I couldn't feel our connection, it never occurred to me it was because of the amulet. I thought..." He stopped, swallowing hard. "I thought you might be gone forever." He finished hoarsely.

I gently touched his face. "When Priscilla was going to attack me and I was still wearing the amulet, I thought that was it for me. I thought of you, Zev. Of how much I love you."

Zev kissed me, running his hands up and down my back. "I love you so much, Liana. You are my heart."  He breathed.

"And you're mine," I said affectionately. I sighed and leaned into him. "I don't understand everything that happened. How did Priscilla get the necklace?"

"I can answer that," Brent stood and approached them and I blushed, suddenly realizing the room was full of our pack. I hadn't noticed them, I had only wanted to be held by Zev. I started to pull back from Zev but he just tightened his arms around me.

"I'm afraid that was because of Teddy," Brent said with regret.

"Teddy?" I asked in confusion.

"Priscilla manipulated him, got him to give her the necklace by saying she wanted it to play a prank," Brent rubbed his hand over his face.

"He didn't know what it did or that it would be used to hurt you," Lorelei said softly, looking a little nervous as she glanced at her alpha.

"I know that," Konrad said gently. "He's just a pup and thought Priscilla was playing a game."

"I've talked to him, he knows better than to take things from my office," Brent said. "I found it difficult to be too hard on him, he feels so guilty." He admitted.

"He shouldn't, it was all Priscilla," I said, sitting on the sofa with Zev's arm around me. "She wanted Zev," I smiled as I heard him growl and pull me closer. "She wanted to be the alpha female and was convinced that by killing me, Zev would eventually turn to her. She was behind the abduction, she hired a rogue shifter to try and take me. She also was the one who shot me."

"She was crazy," Zev said, his eyes flashing.

"She wanted you to find my body," I patted his knee soothingly at the anger I felt coming from him. "Then you would challenge Phelan and she seemed to think he wouldn't mind risking death since he got to hurt you by killing me. But Phelan didn't know all this, he thought the necklace would make it to where he could convince me I could be his mate. He didn't know about our bond, he doesn't even believe in true mates. When he realized what her real plan was, he said no and she stabbed him."

Konrad stood silent for a moment. "So Phelan didn't know the necklace would kill you? He didn't know about the abduction and shooting?"

I shook her head. "He seemed shocked when Priscilla confirmed it. He didn't hurt me, he just had it in his head that I could be his mate. He didn't even really want me, he just wanted what you had." I told my mate. "He's jealous of you."
