*Liana*
I walked to my locker and couldn't help feeling a warmth run through me at the protective way Zev was acting toward me. I didn't understand it and his bossiness could be annoying but it made me feel good regardless. I should have told him off for telling me what to do but I could tell he was really concerned for me and I had to admit, coming across two wolves was dangerous. I could have easily been killed so it would be a smart idea to have someone with me in the woods. Just in case. And his apology seemed sincere...I just didn't get it. He really did appear to care about me so why did he sometimes push me away or act distant? Don't give up on me Liana... I wouldn't. I couldn't. There was something there, something between us and I wanted to find out if it was something worth fighting for. I hoped it was otherwise my heart was going to get hurt.
As I was getting her books, Hanna rushed up to me. "Did I really see what I saw?"
I raised an eyebrow. "What did you see?"
"You getting out of Zev Hunter's car!" Hanna stared at me with wide eyes.
"Oh, yeah. I was walking and he drove by and offered me a ride," I said.
"What happened to icing him out?" Hanna demanded.
I gave her a sheepish look. "I guess I'm not very good at it. He apologized."
"Really?" Hanna said thoughtfully. "Did you make him grovel?" She asked eagerly.
"Hanna!"
Hanna shook her head. "I have so much to teach you."
"He told me not to give up on him," I confessed. "I think, it's just a guess but I think his clique is so possessive that he is afraid to let them know that he maybe likes me."
"Maybe," Hanna said slowly.
Looking around, I lowered my voice. "He also told me not to go into the woods by myself. He seemed worried about me."
Hanna's eyes widened. "Why would he say that? Wait, did you go into the woods?" Concern crossed her face.
"Friday afternoon I did, to do some sketching," I explained.
"Oh," Hanna shook her head. "He's right, the woods can be dangerous. There's wild animals in there." She said in concern.
"Like wolves?" I said knowingly.
"Yeah," Hanna nodded. "You have to be careful." She bit her lip. "And I know I was all for you flirting with Zev but he and his friends are different. They've always had a dangerous vibe to me."
I frowned. "I don't get that vibe." Well, I did feel Zev could be dangerous but not to me. And there was definitely something going on with that group, but I didn't feel I was in danger. Except for getting my heart broken, maybe.
Hanna shrugged but still looked worried. "Just be careful, okay? And I agree with Zev, don't go into the woods alone."
"I'll be careful." I assured her.
"Good," Hanna fidgeted for a moment. "So, we're going to the diner after school today to study."
"We are?"
"Yeah, Jaxon is looking forward to it," Hanna said mischievously.
"Hanna," I groaned. "I don't want to lead him on or anything. He's nice but I'm not interested in him."
"It's just a get together to study, I'll be there too," Hanna shrugged. "It's not a like it's a date or anything."
"I don't know," I hesitated.
