"Chuuya..."

"Chuuya."

"Chuuya?"

"Chuuya!"

The ringing sound of your voice came to a stop as you heard Dazai sighed loudly. He was sitting prettily in front of you with a cup of tea in his hand. "Chuuya this, Chuuya that. What are you really onto, Y/n? Don't tell me.." you could clearly see a smirk forming on his face.

"What? Weren't you listening this whole time? I was just explaining to you why that man needs to be taken care of! He's a port mafia executive, Dazai!" you defended yourself.

Dazai took a sip with an obvious grin showing, then questioned, "Are you sure you want him dead?"

"Huh? Uhm... looking at his profile, he has committed numerous crimes." you answered, putting your finger on your chin.

Dazai leaned forward, letting his elbows touch the top of the table, "It's a yes or no question, Y/n. Maybe you're trying to point out something else?"

You didn't know what to answer him back. Instead, you just glued your eyes to the book you were reading moments ago before the conversation started.

He let out a loud laugh, realizing the meaning behind your action. "Y/n, what are you doing? Can't you answer my question?"

Still scanning the pages of the book, you responded, "I'm trying to find the answer here. Maybe there's one fitting for your question."

"No, there isn't." Dazai grabbed the book from your hand and closed it. Continuing his sentence, he said, "So? Is it a yes or a no?"

You could only stare at Dazai's grinning look as you struggled to speak your thoughts about the port mafia executive that has caught your attention for the past few months.

And there, you woke up. It might have just been a recap playing in your head from what happened yesterday with your current interaction with Dazai.

It was odd, yes, but you found out many things as you spoke to your great partner.

"What time is it?" you blurted out as you observed the open window at the side of the room with your one eye closed from feeling half asleep.

As you got showered and changed into your usual work attire, you heard a light knock followed by a familiar voice, saying, "Y/n, are you awake already?"

You called out, quickly tying the necktie on your shirt, "Dazai? You can come inside. I'm just fixing my shirt."

He gently opened the door and checked first the whole room then as he spotted you, Dazai walked towards you.

You glanced at him then went back to fixing your necktie. For some reason, you were having trouble as your hands couldn't stay put.

Dazai firmly held your shoulders and let your body face him, helping you tie it properly. As he was tying it, he spoke, "Are you feeling alright? What's with your hands today?"

"Thanks. I'm feeling quite anxious today and I don't know why. Could it be telling me something?" you began to question yourself deeply.

"Oh, why'd you come here again?" you asked the man in front of you as he finished fixing your shirt.

"Ah! Right, I came here to tell you something very important. I have received information on where they're keeping Aya."

"Aya? Tell me where she is. We shouldn't waste time!"

"It looks like they won't hurt her if we go there as planned."

"Elaborate. What do you mean by plan?"

Dazai placed his hands inside his pockets and then began to exit your room, saying, "Follow me."

You cluelessly walked from behind, soon reaching the lounge area, and in the middle of a round coffee table was a laptop with a video displayed on it. He then pressed the play button.

Nikolai greeted the camera with such an energetic tone, "Hi! Welcome to a fun game hosted by yours truly, Gogol Nikolai! Guess what game it is today. Ooh, I can't wait to play-!"

Sigma, who's out of the frame, complained to the "annoying" man, "Nikolai! Get straight to the point already. We're not gonna hold onto this kid any longer."

"Sorry about that! Your main goal is to get the child back, am I right? If you want that to happen, you will be needing to offer a sacrifice! A worthy sacrifice that can destroy mankind! Then, I will be seeing you later at 4 PM sharp at this location."

The video ended with that last statement. You couldn't believe what you just heard. A worthy sacrifice, he said. They will obviously use that sacrifice to erase humanity with the use of the brainwashing ability.

You looked at Dazai with a concerned expression as if you were speaking to him with emotions, asking who will be the sacrifice. He couldn't answer your question and just lowered his eyes, telling you that he doesn't know.

"The others are waiting for us outside. Let's go." Dazai said with a serious tone in his way of speaking. And he was right. As you opened the front door, your eyes first landed on Chuuya then to his side was Kouyou.

"What took you so long?" Kouyou questioned with a casual smile presented on her face.

"Took me a minute to explain the situation to Y/n. Everybody ready?" Dazai now had a cheerful look as he spoke with a happy tone.

Chuuya looked at you, handing you a helmet. "You'll be joining me in this mission, detective. The Port Mafia's base seems like it's not doing well. We have to end this fast."

You hopped on his motorcycle while wearing the helmet he gave you, soon placing your grip around his waist.

"Are you mad that the massacre at the Port Mafia is still ongoing?"

"I can't really deny that. But what irritates me the most today is knowing that Dazai planted Aya as his chest piece. His bear trap for the enemies to step onto."

"What? So Dazai intentionally lost that battle against the kidnapper for them to have Aya and give away their location?"

"Right on the nail. That shitty bastard! I swear I'm gonna kill him after all of this ends."

"I'm in disbelief. And here I thought Dazai was getting along with Aya. He could never do that to her."

"Well, surprise surprise! He did, Y/n! Just for his own plan to move the way he wants it to be."

"Let's leave everything to Dazai for now. We can't really do anything but follow his perfect clever plan."

Chuuya clicked his tongue in annoyance. Dazai really had the courage to give up the child's safety in order for this to happen. Who would have expected that? Imagine making the enemies babysit your child. Seriously, what could possibly go wrong?

Well, going back to the thought of the worthy sacrifice that the enemies require for the child to be given back to your hands. I think you already have in mind who could be that worthy person.
