"Wh...What?" you were flabbergasted by what Chuuya just said with such a serious look on his face.
"It's better if we put her to an adoption center. That way, we can assure her safety! Plus, she doesn't have to always be at a risky situation if Aya's with us." Chuuya continued on with his reasons.
Just as you were getting along with the child, this happened. How cruel could time be? It's not even letting you make up for your mistakes.
You felt your heart ache after he spoke, placing your hand on your chest. "You know I can't do that. We all know that! There's still a huge chance for Aya to land on an abusive family!"
"But still, we can't keep her with us. With the constant missions, our time for her is out of our schedule!" Chuuya said, keeping his cool as he tried to convince you.
"No! I betrayed her once, never will I ever do that again! Weren't you the one who said we will never let her be alone again? What happened to that, huh?"
Chuuya swiftly clutched your hand and held it tightly as he begged, "Y/n, listen to me. This hurts me more than it looks! I'm doing this so that I won't regret if ever Aya got hurt while she's under our care."
"And you'll regret it more if you sent her away just to live in hell again with no one by her side who's there to make her feel loved." you replied with such a painful expression on your face, placing your other hand on top of his.
Chuuya went silent and couldn't respond back. At that point, he has given up since he knew you won that argument. Everything you pointed out was true.
In just a minute of thinking, you have decided on what to do with the consideration of Chuuya's position. "I will let her stay at my place. I'll talk to Sir Fukuzawa about the child."
Soon, Chuuya had a relieved expression and a soft smile now formed on his face. "Take good care of her, Y/n."
You nodded your head lightly and gazed back on the private inn where you could see Dazai playing with Aya just by the frontyard.
"Let's head back. It's almost time to depart from here." Chuuya said, still holding onto your warm hand.
While Kouyou was looking out from the window, her gaze locked to you and the mafioso, she received another call. "Hello? Ah, mhm. Understood, boss."
Walking back towards the shelter, Dazai greeted you with the child's hand on his grasp. "Oh, look what we have here. Aya cover your eyes!"
Aya turned to look up at the bandaged man and asked, "Huh? C-Cover?! Am I not supposed to see this?"
"Exactly! This PDA is too much for a child, Y/n! And you, Chuuya." Dazai complained, his glare was obviously seen as soon as he shifted his sight to the hatrack beside you.
"Tch, Dazai. Could you leave us for a moment? Can't you see this is our moment together?!" Chuuya replied with pure anger in his voice.
Dazai crossed his arms as he grumbled, looking away, "Just because you got yourself a girlfriend doesn't mean I'm out of your view."
"What was that? If you have something to say, say it to my face, idiot!"
"Don't forget that I'm her official partner! We're from the same organization as well!
"Who cares! Can't you at least read the room, huh?!"
And so the two continued to argue about you. Aya switched side as she now stood beside you. "Mama, what did papa say? Did he agree?"
