"Bravo Darling," said my mother from behind me, applauding my marksmanship.
"Mom! Don't, clap I may have hit the target but I didn't hit the bulls eye," I said setting down my bow.
"Darling, but you know the arrow was really close to it," my mother said, trying to cheer me up but failing miserably.
"Almost isn't good enough! What if I almost make a treaty, what if I almost win the match, what if I almost do a good job with my destiny?" I said a bit annoyed at my mom not everybody can be perfect like her.
"Darling all of those are what if's," she said calmly, while beginning to walk down the hall.
"Fine mother but still almost doesn't always cut it," I said walking behind her.
We were on our way to meet my father. My parents said that they had something important to tell me.
"Hello daddy," I said as we approached him and gave him a hug. The one person I could rely on to get my morals is my father. He was also always there for me, when I need him. I had a strong connection to both my parents, but I was closer to my dad.
We continued to walk to my favorite part of the palace. "Vanessa remember when you learned that everybody has their other half?" he asked me
"Yes dad, just like you have mom," I responded.
Every creature, whether angel, human, werewolf, vampire, or even a pax has a soul mate. Before you ask I know what is a pax these are creatures that have the most potential to keep peace between creatures. It is the most wonderful thing to find your soul mate.
"Yes, that's right, darling," she said in a caring voice but you could see the sadness in her eyes.
"Mom is there something wrong?" I asked.
"Well Vanessa since you know that you are a future goddess. There is a big chance you don't have a mate," my father said.
At that moment my heart shattered and it must of been seen on my face. Since my father quickly added "But you could still have one, it's just not very likely."
After that I just started to break down and cry. I ran to my room and locked myself in there.
