 Jason's POV

I was just getting back to the castle. I burst through the main doors to the balcony; my parents were watching the ball from there. My parents really didn't go down to any a ball unless they had to dance together or had to make an announcement. I don't know why they even have most of them if they are just going to sit on to the side and make me attend the whole thing.

When I burst through the doors, my parents just turned to look at me. My father look at me puzzled. While my mother on the other hand was trying to if, anybody was going to enter with me.

"Jason, what are you doing here son? Shouldn't you be trying to find your mate?" My father asked putting his glass of wine, of course that would be the first thing that comes to his head.

"Yes shouldn't you be dancing with the girls? Vanessa took time out of her vacation just to help you find your mate." she said and took a sip of wine

"I doubt you will find your mate if you don't go and mingle," my mother said pouting

"I already did," I told them

"Oh how wonderful. Who is she?" my mother asked excitedly

"And why isn't she with you?" my father added

"Mom, its Vanessa..." I said being cut off by my father

"How is it possible? I believed that goddess didn't normally have soul mates," my father said

"Well she does and it's me anyways..." I started to say

"How wonderful we should start planning the wedding soon," my mother said

"Mom, Dad Vanessa's been kidnapped!" I said finally getting it out

"OMG, how did that happen?" My mother asked

"Why did you even leave her alone?" my father asked a bit furious

"Well, I kind of had to go back to the room and ...," I started but my father cut me off again

"Never mind, I will send out some guards to track her location. I don't think they taken her far," my father said and then he turned to a guard.

"Bring in Calvin," my father said to one of the guards. A few minutes later in came Calvin.

"Yes, what do you need?" he said as he entered

"Well, Vanessa has been kidnapped," my father said dryly

"When?" he asked

"A little while ago," my father said

Calvin then turned to me and yelled "How could you let this happen, for heaven's sake she was your mate, and why weren't you with her?"

"I..." I started to say but then he put up his hand and stopped me.

"Never mind I don't want to know," he said, "I will call the council and tell them about it," and with that, he turned and left the room.

"Well I guess we should end the ball, and call it a night," my father said. I turned and left on my way to my room. On my way, I bumped into Cody.

"Hey what's up man I thought you were with Vanessa?" he said but then he say me frown at her name. I just found out but hearing her name still hurts me. I should have been there to protect her. Yeah you should of, my wolf told me and I was about to respond when Cody ask me a question.

"What happen man?" he asked

"Well Vanessa was kidnapped," I said

"What were you doing?" he asked

"Well I was walking back to the ball and I was kissing Natalie." I said

"What? Why were you kissing my sister, and isn't Vanessa your mate?" he asked

"I don't know, I was just walking back to the ballroom, when she just pulled me into an alcove, then everything just went hazy. We kissed for a while until I felt strange and we pulled apart." I told him, trying to recall that moment.

"Did Vanessa see you? She went looking for you after you took a while," he told me. So great my theory is been given more evidence to prove that she might have seen me. This night could not get any better.

"Also when ----, went back to tell Angelika something he wasn't in a good mood and Angelika left not long after that with the rest of them and they weren't very happy when they left." informed me, great fantastic I thought

"Thanks for telling me, I'm grateful for the heads up," I told

"No prob. Man, breakfast is going to be interesting," he said

"Yeah, that's probably the word for it," I said

"Anyways I better get to bed and see you tomorrow. Also don't worry about Vanessa, if anybody can take care of themselves it would be her" he told me and started to turned down the hall

"Yeah, night man" I said and continued on my way to my room. Once I reached my room, I took the necklace I was supposed to give her out of my pocket and looked at it. She should be here with me right now, not somewhere, where heck knows what is happening. I changed and tried to sleep but I did not think I was going to get any.

(Natalie's POV)

Uh, he was supposed to fall in love with me not that b-----. Who does she think she is and why does she think she deserves him. He should have been mine. I'm the only person that is good enough to be his love.

I took out a small elixir. This dumb potion didn't even work. It was supposed to make me irresistible to him. Anyways, why would it I got it from that weirdo in a cloak. I didn't even know who he was. I bet it was just some trick to play on poor loveless girl.

I continued walking down the hall until I was pulled into an alcove. Some person was pulling me into it. I struggled to get out of their grip.

"Let go of me," I said

"Nope," I turned and realized it was my brother

"What do you want?" I spat at him

"You are just going to explain why you were kissing Jason," he said

"I don't know what you are talking about." I responded quickly and added," So if you would be kind enough to let me go I would be grateful," and turned to walk away but her brother grabbed my arm.

"Yes, you do..." and then there was the clatter and he just got quite, "but we will talk about this in the morning, it's getting late and I have to help Jason find Vanessa tomorrow." he said and left the alcove walking away to his room

Who does he think he is I can't believe him. However, I should get rid of the evidence that I tried to take him as my own. I should get rid of it and I went on my way to dispose of what was left.
