(Jason's POV)

"The rouges have been attacking from the north," said Thomas my fathers beta. We've been having a problem with rouges for the past couple of months and it's just been getting worse. "We just need to double patrol and tighten the watches," replied my father Joseph king of the werewolves. Which in turn made me the prince of the werewolves. I was the oldest so I would assume the throne instead of my two brothers Ivan who is 17 and Adam 6.

"Yes, your majesty," replied Thomas snapping me out of my daze. "Next thing on the agenda is finding prince Jason's mate," he added nonchalantly. Uhh I hated it when they talked about me like I was not in the room.

"Yes, I think it's clear to everybody that I don't have a mate," I stated.

"Yet," my father added.

"And what is that suppose to mean father?" I said directing my focus to him. I know it may have sounded a bit disrespectful but my mate topic kind of is a sensitive topic. Since most guy find their mate around their 17 birthday. I still haven't found my mate and my wolf Jake is starting to anxious.

"That you won't have a mate forever" he said. "Yes, I know father you keep telling me that I will find her when that time is right and all that stuff" I interjected "Don't interrupt me. Also I found a possible solution," he said. I wondered what the solution would be it's not like he is magically.

Hey, Cody after the meeting we still up for a run. Cody was my best friend, the betas son and the my beta as soon as I get the throne or should I say if because if I don't find my mate I will never get the throne. We have know each other since we were children. Sure, just let me tell Stephanie  were I will be and man your dad has a point. He responded back.

"So father what is your solution?" I asked not really caring since I doubt it will work.

"I talked to the council and they agreed to send in there best. She is going to plan a ball with all the top people of every species and help find your mate," he said with great confidence. This was his genius idea bring in a girl to throw a party to find my mate.

"I'll need you Matthew to get me all the info on her for tomorrow morning," he added.

"Sure, your majesty. But what is her name?" his gamma asked. "Her name is Vanessa Bartley."

"That seems to be all on todays agenda. So we can end todays meeting. You guys may leave," he said

"Hey man, what's been bothering you?" he asked going behind a tree to take off his clothes to shift "I just needed to talk to someone" I said right before shifting into my gray  wolf and Cody into his dark brown wolf.

I've been thinking...what if I don't have a mate you know. Since there are those few who you know never find there mate, I thought to him. I really did think that I don't have a mate. Man how difficult is it for you to get it threw your skull. You have a mate and that you will find her when the time is right. He thought back, but it is not like I have not heard that before.

Okay, okay I have heard that like a million times. I thought back to him. Well, at least your dad has an idea on finding your mate. Yeah I never asked you this what are you even looking for in a mate? He thought

Well...Actually I never thought about what I wanted in a mate. She would have to be...No she could be anything just as long as she was mine. I thought back to him. Oh if you say things like that to her she is bond to fall in love with you if she is not already in. When she sees you. He thought back.

(Vanessa POV)

"Ha! I win again," I said laughing while letting go of my cousin. "What is that now?" I said "I don't know like 20 to 6 to I think." She said a bit exhausted. "Why don't we head back inside now?" I said walking to the door and grabbing a towel on my way in. "Sure I'm getting pretty tired." She said

"You have been training like nonstop." She said as she got the water bottle. "I know I just want to be ready. I just want to be the best I can at this." I responded back to her. "You don't always have to be the best you know?"

"I know you're right, I just feel like if I don't give 110% I didn't do it right." I always have thought like this since. I was little. I never like doing anything with half the effort I could actually give. The happiest moments of my life are when I show my parents

Just then my phone started ringing. I picked up of my phone and looked at the caller ID. The last person I expected to see listed was the council. "Hey hey, Vanessa speaking. How can I help you?" I said picking up my phone.

"I'm surprised you even picked up," Calvin said

"You know me I'm full of surprises. So what's got you calling me while I'm on vacation?" I asked a bit weary. "Well if you insist. Then I'll tell you the wolf court wants the best and you are the best we got," He said simple as day.

"Why do they want me?" I question, the last time I got called was to go to the wolf court was a 3 years before my parents died and they didn't want me. My parents just wanted me to tag along since my mom and the queen are best friends but I haven't seen them since then and I don't think they just decided to see the daughter of my dead best friend.

"The prince needs to find his mate before his 21st birthday and in order to boost his chances he is planning on having a ball and inviting all the top girls in every kingdom." He explained.

I was left speechless. He is asking me to go and help him find his mate. when he knows that a curse of being a goddess is that you have barely any chance at meeting your mate if you even have one which 99.9% don't.

"So what do you say?" he asked

"I ..."
