Chapter 18

(Vanessa's POV)

The next day. Everybody woke up early the next day to wish Emily a great new beginning. I left her a present she was walking down the castle's steps

"Good bye, Emily. Remember to invite me to the wedding," I told her jokingly and she smiled at me.

"Good bye, Vanessa I will never forget this," she said to me and then ran to Tyler. She kissed him in front of everybody. Then got in the car and waved goodbye to everyone. We waved back to her and then they were gone. Everybody headed back into the house for breakfast.

"So Vanessa, what are the plans for the day," Angelika asked me from Christopher's lap.

"You can't wait until later to get all over him. I'm eating here," I said

"One day I will get revenge on you," she says

"Anyways, I was planning on talking to the castle décor designer," I told her

"Didn't they get a new won like a year ago due to the previous retiring?" she asked

"Come on let's go," I said getting up. If we stayed any longer, I didn't think she would leave.

We were walking down the halls to the ballroom.

I hadn'tt meant the new designer. I can't wait to meet her. I only have a few days to finish planning the party it's Sunday and all the details need to be down by Saturday. We got to the ballroom and a girl with blond curly hair and sparkly blue eyes was standing there with Queen Eliza.

"Hi, I'm Natalie," she said.

"Vanessa, nice to meet you and this is Angelika," I said introducing me and Angelika.

"Hey," Angelika said

"Well, I will leave you ladies to it," the queen said leaving the room and as soon as she did Natalie's smiled died.

"Okay you guys get comfy while I get the color swatches," she said in a really perky voice before leaving.

"Okay, she is too perky for my liking" Angelika said sitting down

"I agree," I said and Natalie came back in with a bunch a different swatches.

"Okay so I think the color should be orange and gold," I said

"Yes I totally agree." She said

We spent a couple hours doing this. We looked through hundreds of different patterns color combinations and other stuff. I had a headache by the time we decided to stop. I told Natalie, that we would finish up tomorrow. Angelika said we should go get tea and hang out. We were heading to a drawing room right now.

"So is it fun being the castle décor designer?" I asked

"Yeah, sometimes. I just love decorating, but someday I hope to do something bigger," she said

"Hey sis," Cody said

"You two are related?" Angelika asked

"Yeah she is my younger sister," he said

"By only two years and yes this idiot is my brother," she said

"Oh come on, you love me," he said

"Sis, dad said to come get you for today's family lunch with Uncle Carl" he said

"Oh that's right! Sorry can I take a rain check on the tea?" she said

"Sure" I said

"Bye" she said walking away with Cody.

I looked at Angelika and just waved my hand. She gave me a question look.

"You know, that I know, the only reason you said we should go have tea was because you wanted to be polite" I said

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" she said

"Just go," I said as she left. I decided to go to the kitchen for a snack. I opened the door, and accidentally hit someone in the face.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry." I said before I relished who it was

"Kyle?" I said

"Vanessa?" he said getting up

"What are you doing here?" I asked

"I delivering the groceries. It's my day job, I got to make a living." He said

"Oh, by the way I'm so sorry that I hit you with the door. Is there anything I can do?" I asked feeling bad

"You could go out with me," he said. He was asking me out. I couldn't believe it.

"As friends" he added

"Sure" I said. What else could I say?

"When?" I asked

"How about now?" he asked

"Sure, but don't you have other deliveries?" I asked

"Nope this was my last one," he said

"Give me a sec. I have to grab something," I said. I ran back upstairs left a note just in case anybody comes looking for me. I grabbed my phone and my cloak and went back down stairs. I found Kyle waiting for by the door to the garage.

"Ready?" he asked

"Yeah" I said walking behind him. We came to a stop in front of his motorcycle.

"Hop on" he said

"Where are we going?" I asked putting my arms around him.

"Just hold on he said and we then he started driving. We drove for like felt hours until we got to this beautiful valley.

"What is this place?" I asked

"Oh, just some valley I take girls to see when I want to impress them" he said

"Ha, Ha very funny" I said sarcastically. We talked for a long time. About our family and our jobs and how stupid it is to have to keep this a secret from humans.

"This place is really beautiful. I wish I could fly in the sky right now." I said not noticing that I said the last part aloud.

"Why not?" he asked

"Because..., actually I don't know why." I said

"Then go for it," he said

"Nah, it's getting dark we should head back," I said getting up

"Okay" he said. I got back on his bike and headed back to the castle. When I walked in everything was quite. It was one in the morning and I didn't think anybody would be awake. I went up to my room. I opened the door, and found Angelika on the bed.

"Who were you with?" she asked

"I was with Kyle," I said

"Oh so how was it?" she asked

"Nice," I said

"Only nice, you are missing so many details, but I will get them from you in the morning." She said before walking out of the room. I went to bed in the clothes I was in and fell right to sleep.
