(Vanessa's POV)

I hurried to get ready. Emily did a great job at getting the dress down. I can't believe she made it so quick. It was red, a spaghetti strap dress and ended about mid thigh. I put on a little make-up, nut not to much. I always hated girls who put on to much make-up. I remembered how I always had this theory on how girls only where make-up to look like clowns and get guys attention.

"Hey Emily, could you ask the queen where she would like to meet?" I asked grabbing a little red fan.

"Sure" she said and then added "Balcony by the garden"

"Thanks" I said walking out the door

"Good Afternoon Queen Eliza" I said walking to give her a hug

"Hello Vanessa and please just call me Eliza, your family" she said hugging me

"I'm surprised you even asked me to come have tea. I thought you completely forgot about me." I said siting down across from her

"How could I forget you send me flowers on my birthday every year? I'm so happy you came. You and your cousin should come and vista more often." She stated with a sad smile

"We have just been really busy and she has been spending a bit too much time with her mate, but she will come visit soon and I will definitely come back to visit," I said. That was final I was putting my plan into action after this hopefully. She says yes and the queen will be ecstatic if it works out.

"So what have you been up to, darling?" she asked. I forgot how much of a mother figure she was growing up.

"Well, I bought this house about 10 hours away. It's really pretty you should come and visit us sometime." I said

"Who is this us?" she asked taking a sip from her tea.

"Me and Li, we are staying there. Hopefully I will for a long time but she left after I went here." I told her picking up a biscuit

"Oh, so that's where you were staying, that explains why you got here so fast. Why didn't she come with? You do know I consider you both daughters?" she asked

"Yes of course, well she thought it was all business and she already was planning on leaving that weekend to spend time with Ricardo, her mate." I told her

We spent like a while talking and chatting about stuff. Like what I've been up to, how Li is and when I might come back to visit again. I had a wonderful time but the queen told me that she had to go deal with some research and I volunteered to help.

"So queen what is the research about?" I asked as we walked down the hall

"I was looking up plans to start an orphanage. For all the little pups that lose their parents due to unfortunate events," she said. Queen Eliza always has had a kind heart and cared a lot about her people.

Just as we turned the hall we say the library doors open and out came Jason.

(Jason's POV)

I went to talk to my father after I left from my date with Vanessa. Was it a date? Could you even call it one? Never mind, he told me to go to the library and look up these books.

I was in the library looking for books like: Angel's heart and the study of mates. I had a stack of books. When I accidentally toppled one from the top and it fell open to this one page that caught my eyes. It had to do with mate's that belong to goddesses.

It read 'a mate to a goddess is very rare. Since they are so powerful. They have links to many creatures, but to be one hundred percent sure you are mates with a goddess you have to kiss her.'

I made a mental note to ask Vanessa about this, but I would have to do it subtly since mates were a soft spot for her. Now that I'm thinking about why is she even helping me?

I didn't relies that there was someone else in the library or even that I spoke out loud.

"Well, she isn't doing it by choice the head of the head councilman convinced her to do it," Calvin said and I turned around to face him.

"What?" I asked a bit astonished to the fact that she was convinced. By the vibe she have of it seemed like routine for her to do stuff like this and she was fine with being assignments this.

"You heard me right and that thing about goddess is true." He told me

"How would you know?" I asked

"Because she told me once. She was explaining why she didn't date much and how the mate thing worked for her." He told me

My genius response was, "oh".

"You better not hurt her" he told me, but he walked out before I had a chance to ask him what he meant. I spent a bit more time in the library, by the time I decided to leave it was four. I decided to leave as I was leaving I spotted my mom and Vanessa talking. Just as I was about to say hi, when I hear glass shattering.
