Chapter 30

(Jason's POV)

I looked at the other guy Vanessa was pulling through the halls with me. It took a lot out of me not to rip his throat out when he kissed her. She got to a room that she knew was empty because that was were the girls were getting ready for at the ball. You could tell no one had been in the room because the dresses were still every where.I spoke up first.

"Well, what is your explanation?" I asked Vanessa.

"Long story, short. My parent's didn't think that I would have a mate so they set up an arranged marriage with Dmitri's parents. I found out the night before the ball, but Dmitri has known for some time. Dmitri question for you, why are you here?" She asked him.

"Well I had a job with a rogue issues in Canada, but when I heard the news that you got kidnapped by some people. I finished the job as fast as I could to get here to see my fiancé ," Dmitri said putting an extra emphases on fiancé.

"But what did your parents say if you found your mate?" I questioned her?

"They said I could choose between my mate or my fiancé," she responded?

"So who do you pick?" Dmitri inquired.

"Well... Um... I don't know," she said with deep sorrow in her eyes.

"How can you not know it is a very simple question," Dmitri told her and her eyes just lit into flames.

"How you ask? Well if my mate wouldn't have been kissing another girl, five minutes after he said he was going to get something that he forgot or if the fiancé that I didn't know I even had until, what is like, 36 hours shows up and kisses me out of the blue in front of a room full of people. Not to mention that I was kidnapped less then 24 hours ago and have had less than, I don't know, maybe 6 hours of sleep. To make a life changing decision. Or maybe it is all of that combined," Vanessa screamed at the both of us before storming out of the room.

"Good going, you got her p*ssed of this early in the morning," I told Dmitri as I left the room. I was down the hall to my room when I just see a maid running down the halls with a panicked look on her face. I started to walk towards the hall I could see that Natalie's door was a bit open. I walked closer and I found that her in the room was off. It smelt like she hadn't been in here for the last day and it was mixed with other scents I couldn't recognize.

I here a cracking sound coming from under my foot. I look down to see shattered glass. It looked like someone had dropped a glass cup. I turn to see the maid from before enter with a few guards.

"What happen here?" I said looking straight at the maid.

"I came here to fix up Natalie's room. The door was open just a tiny bit and I know that the miss never left the door open she would even yell at me if I left it open while cleaning. Something about the castle's aroma not to her liking. That's when I found the shattered glass on the floor and knew there was something wrong. She woke me once to clean up another drinking glass she broke, at 2 in the morning." the maid responded looking down after answering.

"When was the last time any of you saw her?" I asked.

"Last night, she had asked for me to bring her dinner her," the maid replied.

"Have any of you seen her this morning?" I asked and they all shook their heads no.

(Dmitri's POV)

Who would you pick, was all I asked her and she snapped at me as if it was a matter of life or death. I shouldn't be shocked it is Vanessa we are talking about. The few times I had met her she was always determined and focused at the task. Herr parents were kind, but after they died I realized that a part of Vanessa died with them actually I think everyone did.

I just can't believe that she has a mate. At least I have a fighting chance against him. He kissed another girl and he lied to Vanessa. Both things on the 'I'm going to hold this over your head till you die book' of Vanessa. If anyone could hold a grudge my dad use to say was Vanessa's father and Vanessa was close to her father. So she most likely has that same stubbornness of her father. 

I continue walking down the hall until I ran in to Angelika. She looked like she just walked out of breakfast maybe it was because she walked out the dinning room doors or because she still looked shocked from earlier.

"Hey Angelika," I said. She turns to look at me shock to see me.

"Hi Dmitri, what happened with Vanessa and Jason?" she asked me.

"Well, she left off in some direction after she got mad and yeah you know."

"Okay, thanks at least that narrows down the places to check for a p*ssed of ...," but she got cut-off by Vanessa.

"There you are Angelika," she said completely ignoring me, "We have things to do." Vanessa didn't even wait for a response and just grab Angelika's arm and began to drag her down the hall.

Hey guys, I know I haven't update in like months, but I'm back. If you guys are wondering why I came back to writing, well there are two reasons. The first is because my friend wouldn't let me give up on this book and the second is that I actually want to finish the book. I love this book and I love writing. So yeah, I hope to update at least once a week. The chapters will be posted on Saturday. Also thank you to all the people who have read my book and I hope you do continue loving the book.
