(Your Pov)

Days passed, and Loki was moved into the new and improved Avengers tower. Thor had convinced the Avengers to allow such a thing, even for Fury to sponsor it. Even though, from Loki's words, the Director absolutely hated the obligation.

"But what... what about Stark? You met him?" Tony Stark was a famous billionaire, and Iron man. Even if your soulmate met him, it would be incredible.

"Unfortunately." He sighed, and you made a pouty face. What did he mean, unfortunately? "But are you sure you're alright, Y/N? They haven't increased the dose-"

"No, no. There's still weeks till they should... do it." Maybe you were a bit more disoriented. But you blamed the meal you ate in the past hour instead of an increased dosage. "Unlesssomethinghappened... dontthinksothough."

"What?"

"What?"

Loki sighed, and you imagined he must be running a hand through his hair. But why was he stressed now? There was nothing different. Really. You were fine.

Totally.

"Rest, Darling. We'll figure this out together." But you know what? Rest sounded like quite the great idea. You hummed in agreement, letting your eyes close for just a few moments.

Just a second. Really.

But when voices sounded outside your cell, you realised much more than a second had passed. There wasn't anyone visiting you before. And as your eyes stuck together and your body ached, the voices paused. "I thought you said she would stay asleep?"

"I said she was asleep. We more than doubled the meds today, there still shouldn't be any trouble."

Your door slid open, as the onlookers waited to see if you posed any threat. Entering when you had to fight just to peek open your eyes. "Who're you?" You mutter, hoping if anything your response might alert Loki. Someone was here. New people. Intruders upon your space, preying upon your sleeping form.

"Hand me the..." One of the agents asked, motioning for an object. Reaching to cusp the side of your face. Your head lulled to the side as you tried to pull away, your arms still numb from your sleep, unable to support your body. You heard them laugh at your inability to function as a muzzle was placed on your mouth, and high-tech cuffs around your wrists.

Loki yawned through your mind. Had he been sleeping too? Or stayed up? You couldn't decide and keep track of the others' movements, shrugging off the question to focus on Loki's. "Y/N? What's going on?"

But you couldn't respond. Not in any considerable way. You still tried, forcing your lips to make the movements of the whisper. "Taken."

"What do you mean, taken?" Loki burst quickly, but you didn't have the focus to form a reply. You didn't know who, or where, or what was going on. No one cared to tell you anything! "What's going on?"

Hands grabbed under your arms, forcing you to your feet. But you stumbled, as your captors cursed. You were basically unconscious, what did they expect?

"Y/N?"

Even though you had to be dragged along, you did manage to keep some sense of direction. They carried you into the elevator, the ride upwards making you feel nauseous. Then through the halls, past some rooms, under thick archways, until a deep, strangely familiar voice rang out.

"What is this?"

A guard ran ahead to meet the Director. There were others beside him, but you struggled to recognise his entourage. "Preventative measures, sir."

"I don't care about the cuffs." Fury snapped, stepping forward. They ditched your body on a chair as they talked, softened hands finding their way to the sides of your face. Someone who tended to your head as you let it lean against the closest wall. You noticed the blob of red hair on her head, but thought nothing of it. "Why is she drugged out of her mind? What's with the muzzle?"

"With inhibitions the subject cannot use her abilities to attack, escape, trick-"

"The subject?" Fury asked incredulously, questioning the head of your program. You've only ever caught glances of the asshole; the one who made every official decree to increase your dosage or limit your meals. "And what else? Her singing annoyed you?"

"She speaks to the villain Loki." You do what? You spoke to Loki, yes, but he wasn't a villain. Not in any way that made spatting out his name in such a way necessary. New York was the result of mind control.

But you don't say that, even when the girl studying your face removes your mask. "Nick, these are not neutralizing levels. She's been poisoned."

"I-I don't think-" Your captor stuttered, looking to the scientist for an explanation. "Asgardians have high metabolisms. We didn't have the right data to-"

The girl scoffed, standing to face the others. "If you needed data, you would ask."

He didn't have a response for that. Of course he didn't. There was no reason they should drug you to this extent.

Fury sighed, motioning for their largest member to collect you. He wore metal armor and a cape now, but that didn't stop you from recognizing him. "Thor?"Of course, your response stuttered out in a mess of sloppy sounds, his name sounding much more like 'Dor'. But that didn't stop your soulmate from understanding.

"Thor's there?" Loki breathed a sigh of relief, ending his endless pacing. When he realised you wouldn't answer, it's the only action he had settled on. "Don't worry, Love. He's an oaf, but my brother won't let harm befall you."

"Mhm." It's the only response you can muster up, just as you caught the end of Thor's similar message.

Fury approached the scientist, threatening a variety of violations. The redhead held a glass of water to your lips, encouraging you to drink some kind of fluid. Thor helped you sit up, making sure you wouldn't choke.

"Listen, Y/N. We're going to take you back to the tower. There's going to be an integration process, but we'll work to restore your life just like it was before any of this happened."

Just like... " 'ats good." A normal life again? Such a notion sure beats this hellhole.

You weren't present enough to understand the meaning behind her words. That being in the tower, you would be in the same place as your soulmate.

You'd be so close to Loki.

But you didn't realise this. Not now, at least. Your thoughts were spent on staying awake, aware, and listening. You could figure everything out later. You could tell Loki later.

Even though you blacked out within seconds of leaving the chair.
