(Your Pov)
Since your awakening, Shield has never been worse. Hell, you doubted if you were even at Shield anymore. What was once pity for a magical psycho quickly became misguided hatred for Loki's actions. Because somehow, the witch in the cell knew him. And for some reason fell unconscious just before his attack.
Shield hated you. And as your energy replenished, they started to fear you as well. Fury no longer stopped by your cell, any other human contact limited. You received food twice a day, and nothing more.
The food itself wasn't horrible. It was alright in both taste and nutrition for your situation. But whatever they mixed in with it... The drugs kept you in a constant state of dissociation. And as your body became used to them or your metabolism burnt away the symptoms, Shield increased your dosage.
You did try to figure out in what food portion the poison was. But with already limited amounts it proved impossible to tell, as you couldn't survive without the full meal they provided.
The symptoms were many. Shaky hands, a distortion of reality, and slurring of your words to name a few. It numbed your body making it difficult to stand, let alone the dizzyspells that happened if you did so. Their logic? That you didn't have the focus to cast any fragments of a spell. Let alone organize an escape.
Loki tried to support you any way he could. He answered your questions when your hazy mind didn't remember, and tried to keep track of events in your life the best he could. That often meant dealing with your chaotic rambles and descriptions, deciphering something reasonably sensible.
But when you talked to yourself at all hours of the day, Shield came to the conclusion that you had simply lost your mind. Between your previous reports of screaming, and now to be talking with Loki... every suspicious hint you left had them scratching their heads. But in the end, all they could do was increase your high. With focus, you could escape from any mortal restraint. There was no other option in their eyes that kept you in captivity.
But just because you're loopy, doesn't mean you're dumb. It just... takes a bit for logic to kick in.
"No, sir! You can't go in there!" Voices shouted from down the way, as a hearty laugh boomed. "It's restricted access, only those with a pass can-"
The loud one chuckled, as you heard the tap of a phone. "Is this not a prison?"
"Y-yes, but-"
"And are you housing an Asgardian named Y/N?"
"I'm not at liberty to say."
A noise was made as the scientist was spooked. From the shadows drifting through the window, you could only assume that something was suddenly given to them. Perhaps the phone. "Is this not an electronic message from Nick Fury, my dear friend and the boss of all the other bosses in Shield, to 'knock myself out' as I try to find her? It is a strange expression, I must admit, but the man of Iron assures me that he is encouraging my quest."
The scientist gulped. "I... I'll have to check."
"Thank you."
Now who was this? "I have a visitor." You whisper, excited that there was finally some hint of social interaction. It was indeed unfortunate that he come at this time, at the height of your symptoms, but you were grateful nonetheless. The scientists were so cold and impersonal, treating you like a labrat more than anything. Barely alive and barely coherent as you are.
"Visitor?" Loki sounded concerned. He was being moved to Midgard in a few days' time, an exciting development for the two of you. You hoped that this might lead to the two of you actually meeting... at least eventually. That somehow he'll make his way here, or you'll manage to be released. "Who?"
