I stood in the elevator of Aegis Mansion with Irene and Xena. Irene had called both of us to come with me down to the Research and Development underground floor.
Xena nervously shuffled, holding onto my leg, so I lightly rubbed her head to placate her.
"It's alright." I smiled.
"Yes, you needn't worry." Irene nodded. "I simply wish to show you the results of some new research, which pertain to you. I can promise you there will be no scary machines."
"O-okay." Xena nodded.
It has now been a month since what we have called the "Azeroth Incident." To the public, it is simply a fleeting dream. Everything had been restored to its natural state before, as if Azeroth had never arrived.
A few strings pulled by the Council and they covered it up as a mixture of hallucinatory and sleeping gas leaks from multiple various rifts, creating a large shared-dream of another Demon King coming to conquer the world.
Some people are freaking out, believing that this is a sign of the return of the Children of Lupercio, and that the Demon King will return from 50 years ago.
The public doesn't known that the Demon King has already been slain, and the Council seems determined to keep that piece of info quite secured. Very few know of the actual events which happened, both of the last incident and this one's.
It's funny, honestly. Only few know that it was all real, and even fewer know that the perpetrator of the incident, Azeroth, is currently sitting in a coma still.
The elevator doors opened, and Irene led Xena and I to one of the research rooms, where a scientist stood at a large computer, before turning to us.
"Miss Aegis. Young Master. Young Miss." He bowed, while addressing us with the strange and formal titles which we've all been given for some reason.
Miss Aegis is obvious, that's what they call Irene and Iris, while Isabella is now called Master, ever since her husband died and she became part of the Council.
They call me Young Master currently, which I find uncomfortably weird and formal. Feels like a medieval thing to do, but then again, my fiancé is technically a princess.
And then recently they've started to call Xena, Young Miss. Don't ask me why, I don't order these guys to do these things.
"Do you have it?" Irene asked him.
"Yes, Miss Aegis." He stated.
He pulled out a small machine, with a slot in the front and a slot at the top.
"What is that?" I asked.
"Both of your adventuring cards have those glitches on them." Irene informed. "This is our own special reader, which we have made to hopefully decipher those tiers."
"Right." I nodded. "I think it fixed itself though, shortly after we upgraded Medea." I pulled out his card, flicking it to her.
She caught it inbetween her fingers, looking at the card.
"You're right." She stated. "However, we might as well still put it in After all, Medea still isn't registering as X Rank."
"Is that new machine strong enough to register it?" I wondered.
"We shall find out." Irene replied, plugging in his card. It took a few seconds, the machine letting out a couple of beats, before it came out.
She grabbed it, checking it out. A face of strange curiosity surprisingly appeared on her face, before she flicked it to me.
