(Eri POV)

"Damn it...so close..." I muttered, quickly clicking multiple buttons on the controller. Okay, heal the party once again. And then you can lower defense once more, and you can attack. The boss is almost done.

With a few more turns the boss was finally vanquished, allowing me to take a deep sigh of relief.

"Nice!" Erica grinned. "You finally beat 'em!"

I looked over to my current roommate. This alternate version of myself. Well, I'm technically considered the alternate even if I am the original.

It's honestly still weird and tough to wrap my head around even after rooming with her for over a month. I don't really consider us the same person after all.

Our experiences are different.

She didn't witness them die.

A rapid series of knocks suddenly erupted from the door to the apartment, followed by some sort of sad whine.

"Oh, that must be Lily." Erica spoke up.

That's Lily?

"I didn't realize you were expecting someone today." I replied.

"Hm? I wasn't?" Erica looked at me in confusion for a moment before walking up to the door.

What?

She opened the door, and almost immediately Lily jumped through and attached onto her arm. She hung from it like a clingy koala bear, almost trying to drag Erica down with her.

"I'm so boooooored." Lily moaned.

"Ken busy?" Erica asked with a slight smile.

"Yeah..." Lily sighed.

"Alright, come on." Erica chuckled, dragging Lily over to the living room of the apartment.

They were now in a position where Erica was sitting cross legged and Lily was laying on her lap, frontside down and with her stomach physically on the lap.

She rested her head in her hands and twirled her feet into the air as her pink heart shaped eyes looked over to me.

"Oh, hey there Eri." Lily greeted.

"Hey." I replied.

Is this like, a normal thing for these two?

They feel more platonically intimate than Lily and I were, and they both have their eyes on a man.

"Lily!" Tears stained my eyes as I held her bloodied form in my arms.

"Eric..." She smiled. "You saved me...and now, I get to...save you..."

"Ooh, whatcha doing?" Lily gazed at the television screen in curiosity, snapping me out of it.

"She's doing her first play through of the first Fairy Knights!" Erica excitedly said.

"Ah, right." A lightbulb suddenly went off in her head. "Fifth dungeon?"

"Just finished." I replied. "You also like Fairy Knights?"

Lily lightly smiled. "I like it, but I'm not a diehard like Erica and Ken are."

I had never even heard of this "Fairy Knights" originally. Is this a minor something that changed over the course of the resets, or had I simply not known?

It's times like this I wonder if it wouldn't have been better for me to fade away with the rest of the first timeline. I wouldn't have to deal with this confusion of differences due to a single man.
