"Fancy seeing you here."

The silence Donghyuck was peacefully enjoying was disturbed, the sun being blocked in front of him with a shadow appearing in the pool before him.

He jumped and looked up, watching as Renjun took a seat beside him criss cross—he did not want to be wet because he hated water.

"Oh, hey." Donghyuck gave a small smile.

"How was your sleep?" The older of the two asked as Donghyuck shrugged. "Like that, huh?"

"Yeah, but that's alright," Donghyuck dismissed. "Have you seen Mark by any chance?"

Renjun mentally rolled his eyes. These two just can not look for each other and talk to each other like normal people.

The older hummed, "Yeah. He is inside, probably training by now." Renjun stated, deciding on not mentioning that the mafia leader was looking for Donghyuck.

Donghyuck accidentally let a pout display over his lips, subconsciously speaking his mind. "But he just got back from a mission."

Renjun chuckled and Donghyuck cursed in his mind after realizing he said that out loud.

"Great! Now he'll think I care about him when I don't," Donghyuck thought. "...don't I?"

"He's always training if he's not on a mission," Renjun stated and that made the younger frown, letting a sigh escape from his lips.

"Why? Doesn't he let himself rest at all?" Donghyuck questioned.

Gee, Donghyuck. For somebody who 'does not care about him' you are surely asking a lot of questions that concern him.

"We've all been together as a gang for almost nine years and out of everybody, he's someone who just can't seem to stop his mind from racing. He won't tell us, but we know and you can clearly see it in his face that he's tired," Renjun explained as Donghyuck thought for moment about the last time he saw the older.

All Donghyuck had been focusing on then was his anger at Mark and Mark's nasty attitude that he did not even notice the exhaustion that was pouring out of his body.

"So he can't sleep because he always has something on his mind," Donghyuck concluded as Renjun nodded.

It was silent for a while until Donghyuck spoke up again.

"Renjun, have you ever been afraid of anything?"

That question took the older off guard, tilting his head and wondering why it came out of the younger's mouth so suddenly. He placed his hands in his lap before speaking.

"Of course I have."

"Are you still afraid?" Donghyuck looked at his feet in the water.

Renjun thought for a moment, making Donghyuck turn his head to look at him because of the silence.

"No, I'm not."

Donghyuck sighed.

"Why the question?" Renjun asked, but Donghyuck shook his head.

"Just curious I guess."

Renjun was not stupid. Just like he said before, he could read people very well and he knew Donghyuck was scared of something and it probably had to do with his soulmate.

But Renjun did not want to push it or pinpoint at it because it was not his business. When Donghyuck is ready, Maybe he will share with him or Mark.

However, he knew Donghyuck was asking this for a reason and so he decided to continue talking about himself.

"You learn to have trust in one another when you've been with them for so many years. With NCT being mafia gang affiliated, anything can happen but we all know that we have each other's back at the very end of the day even if it may seem like we piss each other off. We're a family," Renjun explained with a soft chuckle.

Donghyuck was listening very intently while Renjun spoke, giving small head nods every now and then.

"Thanks, Renjun. You're a really nice person," Donghyuck gave a small smile.

"Pfft," Renjun scoffed. "Tell that to the others and they'll laugh in your face."

Donghyuck laughed with Renjun.

"Do you think Mark will let me see my family?" Donghyuck asked.

"He must think I'm some mind reader," Renjun laughed in his mind.

He shrugged his shoulders which made the younger pout again. "You're going to have to ask him in your most best behavior and maybe he'll let you."

Donghyuck rolled his eyes, "He's the one that needs to stop ticking me off."

"It's you who's ticking Mark off," Donghyuck cursed in his mind.

Renjun chuckled, "I'll take you to him."

"O-okay," Donghyuck was not sure why he stuttered but the thought of seeing Mark right now sent chills flying throughout his body.

Renjun stood up and Donghyuck retracted his legs from the water, standing up as his feet were wet. He paddled his feet across the cement behind Renjun who guided him back into the mansion.

Donghyuck fiddled with the sleeves of the hoodie he was wearing, his hands hidden underneath the fabric of his sweater paws.

They walked through the mansion, down corridor to the same elevator Donghyuck and him had used last night. The 127 members were still too invested into the television and themselves to notice Donghyuck again.

The younger did not mind though. He would rather not have attention on him.

Renjun pressed on the basement level of the building, the elevator dropping them to the floor before it opened. Donghyuck could hear a few grunts and heavy breath every here and there and that only intimidated him.

Renjun gave Donghyuck a little tug on his sleeve when he noticed he stayed inside the elevator for a bit too long, pulling him into the training area.

They walked a little further, turning the corner where Donghyuck saw the room equipped with a lot of training facilities. His jaw dropped as his eyes scanned the room, especially when finding his soulmate with a naked torso.

"Yo, Mark! You have a delivery!" Donghyuck jumped in surprise when Renjun shouted for the older's attention.

Donghyuck shuddered as he saw his soulmate groan in annoyance and turn around, hiding his shocked expression seeing the younger there.

"Have fun," Renjun turned to the youngest and winked before he left Donghyuck's side to go back into the elevator.
