"You're an idiot," Mark scoffed, aggressively wiping his eyes.

Gosh he did not know why he was so emotional today and it made him upset.

"Why would you do that?!" Mark angrily asked.

Taeyong then stood up as well to walk around his desk to stand in front of his brother.

"Why wouldn't I do that? You're my brother," Taeyong simply said. "That's why I would always get on you about your emotions because I was afraid that you could get seriously hurt and lose your own soulmate. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, it's horrible but that man is sick."

"I hate you so much, you know that?" Mark choked out, pushing his palm on Taeyong's chest to make him stumble back a bit.

Taeyong stood his ground as Mark frustratingly ran his hands through his hair.

"He's gone now, Mark," Taeyong assured. "He's gone."

But that did not make Mark feel any better after learning this new piece of information.

"I know that doesn't make you feel good about this, but now there's no more worrying about him," Taeyong continued, seeing Mark's distressed state. "You did it, Mark. You protected the people you care about."

Mark grabbed a fist full of Taeyong's collar, bringing the older man's body to his as he stared with a pool of emotions inside his eyes.

Taeyong could not tell what Mark was feeling all the time and sometimes it concerned him, but he knows Mark can control his emotions.

"I'm sorry," Taeyong apologized again but something unexpected happened.

Mark threw his arms around Taeyong's torso and hugged him, the older was too shocked to move and return the hug.

Is this what warmth and comfort felt like, Taeyong thought.

He had never received a hug like this before and not even from their mother because he was always busy with mafia work.

It made Taeyong miss her even more as Mark must have learned to give the best hugs from her.

Taeyong slowly circled his arms around Mark's waist and hugged his younger brother back.

"I wish I knew this before but I'm too stubborn to ever hear you out," Mark sighed as Taeyong chuckled.

"I didn't have the guts to tell you sooner," Taeyong stated as the two pulled away.

"How was mom? You know..before she died," Taeyong asked. "Did she ever talk about me?"

The mention of their mother stung Mark's heart and it only made it worse as he realized that Taeyong never really had a relationship with their mother.

Mark smiled sadly and nodded, "She was the best and she'd do anything to protect me...both of us."

"I remember her telling me to talk to you and rekindle whatever it is that we had going on because at the end of the day we're brothers and we should love each other. But I just couldn't do it because I was mad at you and it was for no reason," Mark admitted.

"She's shown me pictures of you holding me when I was a baby and you had the biggest smile on your face," Mark paused. "And at that time I wondered, what the hell happened for us to not be like that anymore."

Taeyong was listening very closely.

"But I knew what happened. It was our father. He took you away from me to mold you to become who you are today while he bitched at me and insulted me for not being more like you. And you know what that did for me? That made me hate you because I hated being compared to you with every little thing I did incorrectly to his eyes," Mark honestly spoke.
