A couple weeks had gone by and apparently, Mark's birthday was approaching in the middle of the week as per Renjun informing him. These weeks that had passed by had been pretty eventful Donghyuck would say.
Mark and Donghyuck had there ups but way too many downs lately. They argued over petty shit and the argument about Donghyuck's privacy was brought up again, the younger ticked off that Mark could just dismiss it so easily.
Despite their arguments, Mark would drive Donghyuck to see his grandparents and visit Jaemin at the pub. At least he did that much, Donghyuck thought.
Donghyuck told his best friend a lot of the things that has been happening between him and Mark lately. And not only that, but Donghyuck found out that Jeno and Jaemin were having a little thing going on between them—Jaemin saying that he feels like Jeno is his soulmate.
Jeno seemed like a very friendly and nice guy and on top of that, he would be able to protect Jaemin since he is part of a mafia like Mark—all of this mafia business is unknown to Jaemin though.
Donghyuck actually has spoken with Jeno before so if he is Jaemin's soulmate, he one hundred percent approved. He was very caring and it seemed like his energy definitely matched Jaemin's.
Ugh, why could not Mark be more like Jeno instead of being an asshole the majority of the time?
Speaking of the older male, Donghyuck has not seen him for almost three days because of his mission with Dream and some of the 127 members.
But on top of that and before he left, the two had not been on speaking terms because of another stupid argument and anger outbursts.
Really, Donghyuck is the one who is constantly provoking the older and completely disregarding the constant warnings and threats Mark had given him. Mark would not dare hurt him and Donghyuck was catching onto that.
It had almost been a week—five days to be exact—that the two soulmates had last had any interaction with one another and it was killing Donghyuck.
He had not really gotten anywhere with learning more about his past life, but he was learning about Mark's habits and he thought that had to be some type of progress.
While Mark would be training, Donghyuck would sneak down to the training room with a towel and bottle of water that he would leave for Mark on the bench.
It was a small gesture and a small step to trying to show some sort of affection and care for his soulmate and Mark, nonetheless, very much appreciated it each and every time.
Just as Donghyuck would do such things for Mark, Mark would also cater to the younger and take him to see his grandparents. And every time Mark had to leave in the middle of the night while Donghyuck was fast asleep, he would sneak into the younger's room and place a gentle kiss on Donghyuck's forehead before leaving.
Currently, Donghyuck was craving for the older's touch and presence. As much as he wanted to blame the soulmate bond, he knew that he wanted it just as bad.
Shotaro had been the one tasked—while Mark was away—with taking Donghyuck to see his grandparents and to run the pub with Jaemin for a couple hours. The young tanned male felt bad that Jaemin had been running it by himself all this time.
And so with constant arguments and debates between Mark and Donghyuck about how Donghyuck does not want to be caged inside this mansion and Mark not wanting Donghyuck to leave for his safety, Mark allowed the younger to work for a couple hours to spend time with his best friend but someone from the gang had to be with him in case.
"I win!" Chenle screeched.
Chenle, Taeil, Kun, Jungwoo, and Donghyuck were all in the living room taking turns in playing our their gaming console: Mario Kart.
